High School Class of 2018

Which is too bad, I got a 1460 which I’m pretty sure is good for national merit in my state, but I have to make sure I don’t screw up next year :frowning:

You guys are so smart it makes me sad… I got a 1350 (top 2%)

@HelloThereHola I got a 26 for Science. I got 13/15 for Heart of Algebra.

@singingwriting We got the same score! What was your breakdown? Mine was 570 CR/W and 650 M.

@snowfairy137 @TP2000 @Hamlon @xopqox @reidd799 @BucketsUCSC @raffie You all got amazing scores!

It’s okay guys. What really matters is next year. I’m coming back full force. We’ll all see next year :slight_smile: lol joking but I looked back at the questions and man I’m dumb

the thing is i know i made dumb mistakes for math because i got all the level 3 problems right

@frazzledazzle thanks!
@HelloThereHola same, for some of them I’m just like seriously? seriously. I got 12/15 in passport to advanced math and I’m like wow, makes sense. Its not like I’m in calculus or anything, I just suck at basic math haha.

ew I got a terrible score of 1420. Definitely not taking the new sat. I’m sticking with the old one :slight_smile:

@thetex 1420 is pretty good I’d think for a sophomore. Are you planning on just using scores you already have for the old one? Because I was doing college research and one college I looked at wont take standardized test scores before your junior year. Plus I’d think you could improve a lot from sophomore to junior year. Idk though, I improved by like 200 points (roughly converted) on the new PSAT compared to the one last year so I may have a different experience.

@snowfairy137 I haven’t done basic math in so long, I’m forgetting how to do it! #PreCalcPerks

@frazzledazzle thats weird all my pre-calc friends said being in pre calc helped them for the math section because a lot of the test has Algebra 2 concepts we havent covered yet

@frazzledazzle how does the fraction adding thing work again?? what is the combining exponents? 7*6?? help me !! haha

@snowfairy man I wish I could reference them but it’s against the rules isn’t it? On one question in reading, it had polite words used to be polite people and it was so obvious and I got it wrong lol. I over think what the author is trying to say.

@BucketsUCSC I didn’t get any easy questions wrong but mostly hard ones on all, so I guess that makes sense. I hate when I make careless mistakes :frowning:

@HelloThereHola Wow, that’s one of the ones I got wrong too! Overthinking helps in English essays because you have more to say, but obviously not on this :frowning:

@snowfairy137 I thought he was trying to get their attention lol. I thought being polite was too simple… now I know better

@frazzledazzle I can’t get into the website right now to check for sure but my CR/W was 630ish and my math was 570ish. I was 95th percentile in reading and 91st in math.

@hellotherehola same. gosh I hate multiple choice questions with distractors like that

Are you serious? :expressionless: @thetex

A 1420 (670r, 750m) does not equal the 2260 I scored in December (750m 750wr 760cr) on the old SAT. To study this new SAT again would be like restarting my entire Critical Reading struggle, which took a gruesome 2 years to overcome.

I missed 11 reading+writing on the new PSAT, and 2 math.
I missed 6 reading+writing on the old SAT and 2 math.

I made a lot more mistakes on the PSAT than the actual SAT, so I’m studying for the old SAT. It took me a long time to improve the verbal sections of the old SAT and I don’t think it’s worth it to restart this for the new PSAT, considering how many more I missed.

@thetex ok I guess that makes sense for you. Just so you know though, the last “old sat” test was december 5th, so it won’t make much sense to keep studying.

@snowfairy137 Ha. Ha. Not like that. There are some questions on the test that were things I either 1) never learned, or 2) forgot how to do since I learned them a few years ago. At this moment, I have trouble helping my sister with her Geometry homework because I don’t remember how to do proofs, etc (I was never good at proofs, anyway). Nonetheless, I scored 650 on the math section (96th percentile).

@singingwriting I was 81st percentile for CR/W and 96th percentile in math.
