@HelloThereHola yes, I’m sorry if i come off as arrogant, but in my school the highest grades in honors/Ap’s is around a 92 or 93, and only 4-5 kids get A’s in each honors class probablly why most college bound students attend community college from my school
APUSH is pretty easy, at my school I got the highest grade on the final and I didn’t even study, its just a lot of reading. GL! @thetex
@nyuhopeful44 I actually liked both movies.
@BucketsUCSC You are very right about Harvard. I would honestly apply to get a rejection letter! :))
@wcao9311 Thank you for creating this thread. Thanks to you, I’ve found a bunch of people who actually like to talk about school. We’re all sharing the stress together. Hope you’ll be able to come on this thread more often. It has be really popular!
@nyuhopeful44 Our school doesn’t publicly rank. I won’t be able to see my rank until the end of the year. Congrats, though.
@geekygeek Your schedule looks good. I’m also take Pre-Calculus and Trigonometry, but Honors is not able at my school.
@waterfall27 Your grades look really good! I honestly wish I had those grades righ now. Your schedule for next year also looks good. It’s okay that you dropped out of Honors Geometry. Colleges will want to see that you did the best thing for you. You were failing and you took control of the situation.
@nyuhopeful44 @sewin2music @reid799 @tonyk16 @frazzledazzle @sewin2music @ish512 @av2222 @BucketsUCSC @HelloThereHola @gormar099 Congratulations to all of you on getting very good grades this semester! I just know that this thread is filled with the best and brightest students of each of your individual schools. Good luck next semester! Good luck to all.
@averagebean They really are!
@reidd799 @tonyk16 I wish had all A’s! :((
@tonyk16 Did you ever leave? :))
@Kelvin82 You’re welcome!
So the quarter here has ended yet, due to all of the snow. The quarter has been extended to Monday. I’m kind of little disappointed with my grades this quarter as they are slightly lower than last quarter’s. But yeah here are my grades as of now. Hoping some of them will change.
Computer Math - 95% - A
Pre-AP English 10 - 85% - B
Pre-AP World History - 84% - B
Spanish I - 88% - B+
Pre-AP Chemistry - 87% - B+
Algebra II - 89% - B+
HPE II - 92% - A
Quarter GPA(As of right now): 3.46
Semester GPA(As of right now): 3.59
1st Quarter GPA: 3.71
I need some encouragement. I’m hoping (best case scenario) that the Algebra II test I just took will be out on this quarter and the test corrections for History will hopefully also be on this quarter which would bump me up to an A in Algebra II and a B+ in World History.
Also, my semester averages by class.
Computer Math - 94% - A
Pre-AP English 10 - 88 % - B+
Pre-AP World History - 85% - B
Spanish I - 90% - A
Pre-AP Chemistry - 86% - B
Algebra II - 91% - A
HPE II - 93% - A
Also, I have to pick my classes by next week. I’m still wondering what AP class I should take along with AP Chemistry. If you guys would pick there 3 of my choices and put them in order from good to okay, in terms of workload, that’d be great. When picking my schedule, I’ll need two alternatives.
AP Capstone Seminar
AP Economics
AP Statistics
AP Human Geography
AP Psychology
Thanks in advance!
Fam they’re making a Beetlejuice 2
@ak2018 that’s something you have to decide for yourself. All sound easier (except maybe capstone) and interesting. If you’re interested in econ take econ. If you like the human brain take psych.
Thanks @nyuhopeful44
lol my school has so much grade inflation, especially with AP classes (so many weighted grades) so my lowest grade was a 99 last semester lmao
@BucketsUCSC I have no idea. I think it might be semester. I don’t think my school does grade inflation.
@Kelvin82 I got my first C in a science class.
My school is also competitive and rigorous (as rigorous as you can get in Maine).
@ak2018 I think I would get a rejection letter from Harvard as well. I’m still going to apply, though.
Awesome grades!
@nyuhopeful44 OMG!!!
Turns out first semester GPA and rank don’t come out until the end of next week. The Guidance department still has to put them into the computer. I got my GPA/rank from the end of last year this morning.
GPA (UW/W): 3.25/3.75
Rank: 56/275
All these grade inflations geeeeeeeez. We don’t get that here :(((( My grades go up and down often. For example, my social studies mark was a 96 then went down to 73 and now I’m barely skimming 90.
@ak2018
Just my personal opinion but in terms of workload it goes
Easiest: human geo
Second easiest: stats
Third easiest: psych
4th easiest: econ
5th: capstone
1-4 can vary depending on your school but capstone will always be a lot of work due to the many presentations, research papers and other large assignments.
Thanks @gormar099 and @nyuhopeful44 for your inputs. I have made my decision, finally, and have decided to take AP Psychology next year along with AP Chemistry. I talked to the Psychology teacher and looked over the class. I even talked one of her current students and she said the class is fun. I’m actually kind of excited! Our county is opening up it’s 2016 - 2017 course requester either tonight or tomorrow night at midnight. It’s definitely going to be an interesting year. After we pick our classes online, we’ll talk with our counselors and make sure to verify them.
Here is what I’m picking finally:
Engineering Explorations I/Robotics
AP Psychology
AP Chemistry
U.S. and Virginia History
Functions/Trigonometry
Spanish II
English 11
@frazzledazzle @averagebean Thanks lol. It’s nice to know someone on this thread is experiencing trouble with grades. Also, I’m pretty sure I just failed my Quarter 2 Algebra II test. Lol, guess I’ll stick with a B.
@neonerudite Grade inflation?! That would be awesome. The only boost honors/AP classes give at my school is the .5 weight for GPA calculation.
@ak2018 I got my first (and hopefully only) C in Honors English last year. It was a 79. ;~; Totally wrecked my GPA that quarter.
Sooo we’re all going to be juniors next year. Can I ask for a bit of help? How many APs are you taking? I’m leaning toward 4, but some of my friends are doing 5, so I really don’t know what to do.
You can always ask for help on here @EmZoWe I would highly recommend doing as many AP’s as you’re comfortable with. I’m taking 2 next year as that is how much I can handle right now. I’ll be doing three senior year. It really depends on you. But definitely do not compare your friends to yourself. They are not you and are somewhat different from you, in terms of how much workload you can take.
Would you mind stating your AP’s, as in which ones you will be taking?
@EmZoWe I am going to be taking 3 next year. Senior year, I am probably going to be taking 3 too. If you only want to take 4, then only take 4. If the 5th class is one you want to take, keep in mind the workload. Could you personally handle that many, or do you think you will struggle? Honestly, one AP class won’t make or break you… If you don’t want to take it, then you don’t have to,
@EmZoWe 3-4 APs 1 IB
AP Lit
AP Chemistry
AP Calc AB
AP Economics or Honors Zoology
IB Spanish SL
Plus Medical Interventions
