@savagestudent7 My senior friend is taking it BC she has taken all the other sciences at school (AP bio, AP chem, AP physics C) and she says its a complete joke. Really its for kids who don’t really care for or are good at science but want to take a science AP
But you may not have been really asking so in that case… JOKEEE!!!11!!1!
@snowfairy137 lmao I’m taking environ and physics c at the same time next year…just wanted to know if it would be a burden
@savagestudent7 By any chance, have you taken AP Psychology?
@gomar099 @sewin2music @LeopardFire thanks for the advice! I’ll talk to some kids who are currently in Honors Precalc and see if it’s really the nightmare my teacher is making it put to be.
@LeopardFire in Michigan the law is that you can only drive one person under eighteen who is NOT your sibling. So I could drive my sister and her friend. It’s really badly enforced though.
@HelloThereHola same!!!
Idk who started the scared for next year topic but SAMMMEEEEEEE!!! Totally not ready for the “most important year” pressure. But the summer after we can start our college applications
I did all my english by 1 am and apparently I have no school. Well, did that for no reason
@snowfairy137 We still had break. That was christmas break. This is WINTER break. Lol we get a lot of breaks. We still have spring break coming up too.
@TrainerGary That never works for me. I don’t wake up lol.
My Guidance counselor (Guidance Dept. Head) has already been putting schedules (STEM students and some people from each class) into the grade book to see if there are any scheduling problems for next year. He’s doing it already because my school has 272 leaving seniors and a whopping 350 incoming freshman. Anyway, he used me as a prime example for the sophomore class (due to my multitude of problems last year) and there are no problems!!! I’m very happy about that, and I can’t wait for my classes next year! I have to finish this year first, though.
I also got my Weighted GPA and class rank last week! I’m not the happiest about it, but I am taking 3 less Honors classes this year than last year. At least I still qualify for Academic Awards!
Weighted GPA: 3.66
Rank: 59/280
@Phantomlink That’s a great schedule! I’m also taking APUSH and AP Lang next year!
@gormar099 I’m so excited for it!!! I love CrashCourse!!!
@ataabs I don’t know what WLC is, but I do plan on doing Girls State junior year. Does anybody else have Girls/Boys State?
@thetex I’m trying to find out more information about fellowships at my local university, since I hear that you can work and do research and be paid for it. I figure it would be a good way to kill 2 birds with 1 stone - work on my research/observation project and make money in a way that isn’t mind-numbing.
@HelloThereHola @nyuhopeful44 I haven’t received any mail from the Stanford summer program, but I received emails from Brown, Cornell, and Carnegie Mellon regarding their pre-colleges. Have you guys received the same thing? I though it was pretty cool, but they don’t really have the programs I like.
@nyuhopeful44 I’m also on break! I thought I was the only one! My state gives everyone a week break in February because it’s tournament time for Varsity basketball.
I only have to pay $90 for AP exams this year. I hope everything works out for you!
@ak2018 I’m so proud of you!!! I’m glad everything worked out!
My sister’s a 2019er.
I’m excited to (hopefully) manage the Varsity softball team.
Is Gravity Falls going to be on Netflix, though? Is it already? I need to catch up!!
@Hamlon It’s a nice looking number. Student Council at my school had step-up day for out-of-city class of 2020 students last week. sigh Time goes on so fast.
@averagebean I’m in my school’s band, jazz band, Science Bowl team, Math team, French Club, Student Council, and Sophomore Class Council. I am principal flute of a local youth orchestra and work on a science fair project outside of school.I’m treasurer of French Club, and am dropping Class Council at the end of the year and am running for VP of Student Council.
That turned out really long. lol
Thank you @frazzledazzle I’m proud of myself as well. I would like to thank you once again for the advice.
Also, good for your sister that she is a 2019er. I just think that they’re graduating class year is not as important or fun as 2018 and 2020. Now that I think of it they do have something important.
2018: First class to be mainly made up of people born in the new millennium.
2019: Last graduating class of the decade.
2020: First graduating class of the new decade. (And cool sounding year)
I don’t know if Gravity Falls would be on Netflix as I don’t have it. I would check the though. The series finale was last night, hence why I was all up in my feels. Lol
@ak2018 I guess 2019 doesn’t have something flashy regarding them, so they seem a little less important compared to 2018 and 2020.
Gravity Falls isn’t on Netflix, but other Disney XD shows are (Phineas and Ferb, notably).
@frazzledazzle It might be that the show just ended yesterday. Phineas and Ferb eneded a while ago.
Oh and I have a question for everyone. Do you believe people when they say that we are the worst generation ever?
@ak2018 nah I don’t believe it. I feel we are the smartest if anything.
@ak2018 I think every generation thinks that about the one succeeding it. I’d say we are definitely the most technology-dependent, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing, especially when lots of us will be making huge advancements in the are ourselves.
@ak2018 the millenial generation ends with us (1980-2000) so they’re really saying it about the generation after us lol
Seriously tho, I think our generation is the best! Compared to those above us, we are more accepting of other cultures and races , we have more academic pressure than anyone older than us, and even if we’re on our phones a lot it’s better than getting high all the time like they did in the 80’s! I think that “troublemaking teenager” stereotype was 100% the teenagers of the 1980’s fault.
@ak2018 That’s true.
The other generations are very prejudiced towards our generation, yet their generations are a lot worse. They had multitudes of wars and created massive problems regarding poverty, the environment, and the economy (and many more) that our generation, and generations to come, are going to have to fix. There are good things our generation has done already, like the fact that we have lower teenage parents, and less people smoking and doing drugs (to name a few). I think our generation has to be the smartest, and that we are already. Even though we are technology dependent, we are developing more technology to benefit ourselves, society, and the world. rant over
@apple1893 @LeopardFire @nyuhopeful44 @frazzledazzle You have all made very interesting points.
@apple1893 @LeopardFire @nyuhopeful44 @frazzledazzle Have any of your parents ever commented on the topic?
@ak2018 my parents are always quick to tell us how easy our generation has it and how “back in the olden days… We were better.”
