Is this combination of AP’s too much??? I just changed my schedule to this and I’m really nervous that I going to fail because the APs are like HARD APs… And I can’t change my schedule!!!
My Current grades
Spanish 3 Honors-92.8%
Algebra 2 Honors-88%(A is an 86% because of common core)
English 2-96%
Chemistry 1 Honors-82%
WHAP-89.5%(pouring out my heart in order to get an A in this class LOL)
In my school no A-'s percents dont matter A is 4 points B is 3 etc. and you get 1 point weight age for all AP’s and Honors
GPA;(3.68UW/4.18 W)
Haven’t posted on this thread yet, but I’m a sophomore too. I’ll keep with the trend and tell you my grades: I got straight As for Quarter 3, hopefully that’s what it says on my report card when I get it tomorrow. I’m taking English 2, Algebra 2, Honors Chem, APUSH, Spanish 2, business 2 (called something else but don’t wanna be specific), and art 1 (again, don’t wanna be specific.
I did and everyone in my school does! It’s more mathematical and accelerated, and we learn a few more things than the standard class. Some things are taken a step further (like Algebra 2 builds upon Algebra 1). But you should check the prerequisites at your school, and what other students do/did.
@nyuhopeful44 Also, I would say to only take that 5th year of Spanish if you really want to. Most colleges recommend four years of a foreign language so you’d be okay! I’ve done two years of Italian in middle school and I’ll finish two years of Spanish by next year.
So, I took my English quiz today, and it was hard!!! I finished my DNA model!!! Our grade is going on a trip to Roger Williams University tomorrow, and I am pretty excited.
Guys I started work and it was so boring. All I did was watch online training videos lol. Maybe when I actually start preparing stuff in the kitchen, it’ll get better. Now I’m wondering how I’m going to balance this new job with all my AP/college classes next year and extracurricular activities. I probably won’t get home until around 10 PM and… I already know I’m going to die. Growing up is fun :))
Also, I recently discovered that the AP class at my school is only AB. Some traditional schedule schools have the BC class all year long and are able to get through the material. This is BLOCK schedule and they don’t even have the BC option. The AB class is all year long too. Oh well, I just thought it was interesting lol :-??
My teachers told us our finals will start May 17th (1 week after my birthday on May 10th <:-P) and end May 25th. How it will work is that we will take our finals in order of our class periods. So all 2nd Period finals will take place on May 17th, all 3rd period finals will take place on the 18th, all 4th period finals will take place on the 19th, all 5th period finals will take place on the 20th, all 6th period finals will take place on the 23rd, all 7th period finals will take place on the 24th, and all 1st period finals will take place on the 25th. In Virginia, we call our finals for our core subjects (Math, Science, English, and Social Studies) SOLs (which stands for Standards of Learning) tests. This year, as sophomore, I only have 3 SOLs for Algebra II, Pre-AP World History 1, and Pre-AP Chemistry, and the rest of my classes (Computer Math, Pre-AP English 10, Spanish I, and HPE I) have individual finals. My classes with regular finals that aren’t SOLs might make us take the test after the SOLs (maybe sometime in June). Also, different class subjects like Math, Science, Social Studies, English will take the SOLs at different times during the day, since the SOLs are fully on computer. The SOLs test can last up to 4 hours.
So my finals schedule looks like this:
Tuesday, May 17th (2nd Period Finals and SOLs): May or may not take English Final (May be taken at a later date.)
Wednesday, May 18th (3rd Period Finals and SOLs): Pre-AP World History I SOL
Thursday, May 19th (4th Period Finals and SOLs): May or may not have Spanish 1 Final (May be taken at a later date.)
Friday, May 20th (5th Period Finals and SOLs): Pre-AP Chemistry SOL
Monday, May 23rd (6th Period Finals and SOLs): Algebra II SOL*
Tuesday, May 24th (7th Period Finals and SOLs): May or may not take HPE 1 Final (May be taken at a later date.)**
Wednesday, May 25th (1st Period Finals and SOLs): Will likely not take Computer Math Final (Will be taken at a later date.)***
I know all Math SOLs tale place in the morning.
** Really easy final, for the most part.
*** Since I'm the only sophomore in Computer Math, I must take the final even though I have an A in the class. All juniors and seniors (which the rest of the class consists of) who have an A do not need to take the final. :((
