@dannydalt64 I am and I am not prepared for it at all. Time to cram last minute lolololololol
@neptuna Lol I wish I could go on a life hiatus. But life won’t allow me to do that because life is needy! :))
I FEEL SO MUCH BETTER BEING DONE WITH MY AP TEST!! now all we will do in AP Euro is watch movies
Plus, I just found out that I got a $400 scholarship for my Stanford one week internship this summer!
@ak2018 i disagree unless money is really an issue its better to take the subject test after taking a similar AP ex Chem subject test after AP chem Math 2 subject test after pre calculus so the subject is fresh in your mind
@BucketsUCSC I was assuming the reason why @ihavenoideawow is taking all of those tests in June of 2017 was because they were signed up for all for all of those courses for the 2016-2017 school year. Looking at how unlikely that is, I agree it would be better to take the SAT Subject Test after you have recently taken the necessary class in order to do your best on it. I’m planning to do my SAT Subject Tests, for Chemistry and Math Level 2, in early June of next year. I’ll take my SAT and ACT during early May - June, as I’ll only have two AP tests next year.
Hi guys! Haven’t been on here in a while, what’s up?
Also, I just found the ANTICIPATED SAT and SAT II Subject Test for the next three years. I’ll list the one for next year:
2016-17 SAT Dates
Oct. 1, 2016
Nov. 5, 2016
Dec. 3, 2016
Jan. 21, 2017
March 11, 2017 (No SAT II Subject Test Will Be Given On This Date)
May 6, 2017
June 3, 2017
Also the ACT:
ACT 2016-2017 Dates
September 10, 2016
October 22, 2016
December 10, 2016
February 11, 2017 (TESTING IN NEW YORK WILL NOT TAKE PLACE ON THIS DAY)
April 8, 2017
June 10, 2017
I’ll probably take the June 3, 2017 (SAT) and June 10, 2016 (ACT). I’m going to take Trigonometry during second semester of next year, so I want to wait until then to take both, even though there is not much Trigonometry on the SAT. I’ll do my SAT subject tests May 6, 2017, which will take place 5 days after I take the AP Chemistry Exam on May 1, 2017.
I’m procrastinating so much on my Math 2 subject test considering I finished pre-calc a year ago. Ugh…
It might be best to either review it, or not do it at all. It is really a test that you need to have the info fresh in your mind. @snowfairy137 Also, just curious, what’s your schedule next year? We’re getting a new engineering teacher, so this should be fun.
Also, has any tried the Khan Academy SAT prep yet? I’m going to start using it to prep this summer. I just checked that now they’re doing this thing where you can schedule practice exams, to help you prepare for the SAT.
when is the deadline to sign up for june sat subject test
@ak2018 yea I’ve been using a prep book, so I’ll probably be fine. I’m really shooting for a high score.
The khan academy thing is nice, I’ve been using that too and (at least for me) its not something I dread doing, its kinda fun.
@BucketsUCSC May 5th was the normal deadline, May 25th is the late one.
My schedule is going to be classes entirely at a local college. I need to meet with the guidance people before I’m allowed to finalize it but the classes I’m thinking of taking next year are:
English 201 + an English elective, 2 US History classes, Multi variable calc. General chem, their calculus based physics sequence, and a Spanish class. It’s on a quarter schedule so I’d only be taking 3 classes at a time.
@ak2018 I’m using Khan Academy SAT prep. It’s totally nice to use. It is helpful because it makes a daily plan for you up until you set prep day, and it’s also partnered with College Board so you can trust the content. You have access to pretty much every released SAT practice test (you can schedule them- they are the full exam so it might take like 4 hours to finish it, I put mine on the weekends). You can really get a good idea in what you are weak and good in because they break just about everything that is on the English and Math SAT test down. Like the Reading is broken into Science, literature, history and social science. Grammar is broken down into modifier placement, punctuation, possessive pronouns and logical comparison. They also give you hard and basic examples for true mastery.
It’s really great for practice they have probably thousands of practice questions. But if you have to learn a concept in English, like what misplaced modifiers are, I don’t think watching Sal’s videos will help you completely. So I end up using the web for that.
I’m using Khan Academy right now for about 40 minutes a day, for English and it helps, I mean I think you get to learn exactly what is going to be on the test. I’m going to use them primarily and maybe learn a few other skills with my Barrons practice workbook. Then to remember everything I use a free, spaced repetition, flashcard software called Anki (I feel like I should talk about this more, but my post is already pretty long).
Khan academy also gives tips and strategies for the test, and tells you everything you need to know about the new SAT. I’d say sign up for it, (it’s free). My sister took her SAT earlier this year, and she used Khan Academy for most of her studying for Math, and she said it was super helpful. Math learning goes great with Khan Academy for sure.
And lastly check out Edrolo SAT videos, they are so helpful for math because they give you the fastest ways to solve complicated looking problems.
@ak2018 I have looked through the SAT II prep book for chem and I’ve done all of that in chem honors, so I’m just going to buy that book and study off of it
I’m taking AP bio next year, along with physics honors. physics is the only subject test that I’m iffy on taking, I might take it after I take AP physics in my senior year in May.
that’s my reasoning for taking all 3 of those subject tests (also because I want to be a chem major). I’m taking AP chem senior year, but I honestly don’t see the point in waiting to take the subject test because I’ve already learned the material. I would have taken it this June but I didn’t know anything about it, and my dad is already buying me 3 AP art history prep books for the summer. don’t want to waste more of his money!!
also, is it very difficult to take all 3 of those tests in the same day? I’d imagine it wouldn’t be too great. another reason I might put physics off… hmm.
how hard is molecular bio to study for?
@ak2018 i have it definitely helped with the sat in March. The questions were veryy similar to the questions on the redesigned Sat.
My plan is:
Molecular Bio and US History June 2016
Spanish w/Listening November 2016
Chemistry June 2017
Literature June 2017
Retake Bio or USH June 2017 if needed
Retake any sat2s October 2017 if needed
This way I will have 5 from different subject areas
@BucketsUCSC The College Board hasn’t put up the anticipated SAT deadlines yet. However, prepscholar.com did. This is not the OFFICIAL schedule, but prepscholar used historical data to guess when the deadlines would be.

@snowfairy137 So, you’re basically already in college. :)) Lol. Are you taking a Robotics class? Have you taken one in the past?
@Abbiegalie @snowfairy137 @ihavenoideawow @premednyy Thank you so much for the advice.
@ihavenoideawow I actually checked the syllabus for the SAT Chemistry test and it looks like it has a lot of the stuff we’ve learned in Honors Chemistry. I’d ask your Chemistry teacher if taking the test right after Honors Chem is a good idea.
@nyuhopeful44 Would you mind answering @ihavenoideawow 's question of how hard studying molecular bio is?
