@DaEmmJay23 I think you should take the fourth year. Three years is fine when the class only runs for three years, but if it’s set up for four you should just go ahead and finish. Colleges like to see a minimum of three years, so if you’re applying to more competitive schools then the fourth year will be a boost.
@bubblylaugh Just to be clear, did you explain to him why you needed to leave? If not, I would take a couple of minutes to talk to him the next time you see him. But if you did and he’s still upset for some reason, no big deal. He’ll probably forget about it over the summer. I can’t imagine that someone could hold a grudge that long for something so petty.
@neptuna I said I wanted to go to my art class to work on my project, but I did not mention that it was due that day. The almost exact same circumstance came up last semester, but with less urgency and I did do the Spanish work. He should understand since it was urgent and this project solidified my A. Thanks for the advice! I really appreciate it! :-bd
@neptuna oh my gosh I thought I was the only one @DaEmmJay23 it shouldn’t hurt you that much if you don’t, it would definitely look good but if you can’t stand it, it’s probably not worth it. Especially if you’re majoring in STEM or going to a tech school.
@DancingwithStars You actually reminded me to check with my counselor about GPAs and class ranks. I’ll ask my counselor for a little transcript in a couple weeks to see my official GPA and class rank. I feel like, however, they’re going to be low because of the gap year I spent in Ghana. Because I wasn’t acclimated to the school system there, I got Bs and Cs.
@ihavenoideawow There are a lot more essays, homework, and projects involved in IB than in AP. ECs usually aren’t recommended for IB students as most of their work will deter them from doing them.
@DancingwithStars Congratulations on getting accepted into your summer biotech program and being able to volunteer at your local science museum. <:-P I’m actually going to be volunteering at my local library, go on a couple of college tours, go to Kings Dominion, take Health and PE 2 in summer school, and more.
@TP2000 I kind of wish I was going to take HPE II online, but my parents said they didn’t want me to take a class that is meant to be done in a gym online.
@neptuna SAME! I still don’t think I’ve grasped the fact that half of our high school journey ends in a few days! We’ll no longer be underclassmen, we’ll be upperclassmen and women!
@chr1717 Congrats on getting your learners’ permit! <:-P Hopefully, I’ll get mine later this summer!
@neptuna I literally just woke up pissed about a dream I just had. My dream made me want to kill men! :)) I was so pissed about what one of the people in my dream did to me, I woke up like “So, who do I need to kill?” :)) That person wasn’t even real either. The worst part was, I’m pretty sure, in my dream, I found out the guy was a sex offender. When will these creepy and vivid dreams cease?
Sorry with all of these posts, I’ve just been really busy with SOLs this week. I just took my World History SOL, or Final, yesterday and it felt okay. I’m going to the public library after school today to study for my Chemistry SOL tomorrow. I have my last SOL on Monday, then we start non-SOL class finals.
I also talked to my counselor the other day about what colleges would see on my transcript, concerning year and quarterly grades, and she said they’d only see my year grades, including my senior year quarter grades. I’m actually kind relieved because my 4th quarter grades are looking pretty atrocious right now.
ah, okay, thank you @ak2018 I have recently found out that I may be able to join an IB program near me, and I am trying to really hard. however I’m also going to be doing track and field during the spring season next year. hmmm
My school year ends tomorrow. laughs hysterically like a crazy person I’m Freeeee!! Finally :((! … well now I get to stress myself all summer with work, AP biology, algebra II, volunteering at my local hospital and a learning center and trying to learn 50 other things 8->!! Woo… I just really love summer…it’s like such a great break from school 8-|
@mutedmornings I haven’t checked out IOI yet, but I’ll do it. To be honest I don’t really listen to girl groups besides Red Velvet. Did you see the Save Me MV though? It’s been on loop, for me, for about 3 days, it plays whenever I open my laptop ; I’ve heard it so much that I am starting to hear Jhope’s voice in my dreams, not that that’s a bad thing XD I just need someone to save me from bts…
@sewin2music I love openstax! I think if collegeboard had verified it then it should be a good book for AP Physics. I wanted to self study physics too over the summer if I have time. Although I’m already scheduled to take honors physics this new semester. I think i might want to major in it in college so I wan to find out as much about it as I can.

Have a great birthday today! I hope you have a great time being 16 and make tons of memories
I was just going through old posts in this thread and I realized how motivated you guys are.
My EC’s are amazing and my ACT score was 33, but I still feel like I am not doing enough to make it into a top 20 college because my gpa is a 3.8 unweighted/ 4.4 weighted. :((
