@wildguy57 E-schooling Physics in about a month is hard, but somewhat possible. If you feel can do both SAT prep and online Physics, then go right ahead. I honestly think your first priority should be SAT Prep, though.
My school also uses Pre-AP to denote honors classes. I took three Pre-APs last year: Pre-AP Chemistry, Pre-AP English 10, and Pre-AP World History. In my county, there is no Pre-AP or Honors Physics, there is only regular Physics or AP Physics 1, 2, and C.
I would say definitely stick with AP Spanish. It sounds like your teacher last year should’ve prepared you well. I would say to look at the AP Spanish Language and Composition Thread for this year and last year to see what the students were doing, for the most part. I think dropping AP Spanish Language and Composition, a highly respected class, for AP Environmental Science, considered an easier AP science class, wouldn’t be the best thing to do. The fact that you’ve already have three prior years to Spanish shows your commitment, I personally wouldn’t stop at Spanish 4 if I had space in my schedule.
I would say to keep AP Psych. It is a pretty easy class and is mainly memorization, but, as an aspiring engineering, I hate this, it would definitely be a lot better for your schedule then a regular engineering course, a course that likely is meant for underclassmen.
@BucketsUCSC At my school, you need at least Algebra 2 to do regular Physics. It used to be that you could take either AP Physics 1 or 2 as long as you had taken or are concurrently, meaning taken with AP Physics 1 or 2, enrolled in Pre-AP Algebra 2/Trigonometry or Functions/Trigonometry. Now, they’re making it so that only those who had taken Pre-AP Algebra 2/Trigonometry can take AP Physics 1 or 2. Even if you learn Trigonometry from Functions/Trigonometry, they won’t let you sign up. The only way to combat this is to have your parents write a letter force-adding AP Physics 1 or 2 onto your schedule. AP Physics C see must be taken after or concurrently with AP Calculus AB.
@fuzzypolarbears All I had to do was write a summary, a description of the diction, uses of imagery and figurative language for all of the chapters. I have all of my notes stapled ready to use for the timed essay I’ll have to write during the first week of school.
@ak2018 For English and Math make sure you NAIL the topic and practice it online until you are confident in it. For reading chances are you just missed a small detail so go back and figure out what you can do to not miss those small details in other words formulate strategies that work for you. For science just go back and figure out what you did wrong. You can’t do much for science tbh it’s just practice.
So I’ll continue with this whole schedule homework thingy
IB Math HL 1
Homework: 2
Studying: 1
Math has always come easy to me, same teacher that I had for Calc AB
IB English HL
Homework: 2.6
Studying: 1
How do you study for English?
IB HOTA HL
Homework: 2
Studying: 2
Teacher is very,very lax
IB Pysch SL

Teacher is very lax
IB Econ SL
Homework: 1
Studying: 1.5
Teacher is very^3 lax
IB Spanish SL

Probably will have to study here
IB Physics HL
Homework: 2
Studying: 3
Teacher is renown for not being able to teach, so should be interesting
If there’s anything to draw from this it’s that I don’t really study and don’t really have that much homework that I don’t get down at school
Hey guys, for any of you who have taken AP Physics C, do you the info learned will help on the SAT physics test? I took an introductory physics course in 10th grade and I’m having trouble deciding if I should take SAT physics in the fall so I don’t have to worry anymore or wait until the spring.
Thing is, I never learned thermodynamics, which I would probably be learning in chem junior year.
Thanks!
Isn’t it always best to take SAT subject tests around in June? Because around that time most of the stuff to study will only be a review and not so difficult.
What schools are you all thinking about applying to next year?
Mine are:
Reaches- Columbia, Princeton (early action) , Dartmouth, Northwestern, and John’s Hopkins
Matches- NYU (early decision) UMich (early action), Boston University, and George Washington
Safeties- University of Pittsburgh, Grand Valley State University
@smmonsa be careful with those safeties, they are more like matches. Make sure you have one absolute safety, because a what a nightmare it would be if you get waitlisted on your safeties
Reaches - The College of William and Mary (W&M)
Matches - Virginia Tech (VT) (Seems like a reach), University of Virginia (UVA), James Madison University (JMU)
Safeties - George Mason University (GMU), Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU)
@kdiazmomof1 what is the Duke TIP program i heard of my friend that’s about to go to eight grade talking about it what is the minimum score requirement
So I’ve been looking for a college in my area that teaches arabic because I have a strong interest in learning it and I finally found one. But it’s a religious school and costs 53k a year rather than the 16k the other school I was considering is.
