@ak2018 That sucks. Walking a mile in the winter time would be brutal
How have all your summers been?
I have my driving test tomo and I am very nervous… Any tips???
@wildguy57 I haven’t taken it, but my friend has- the tips he gave me were to just relax and stay calm before (and during) the test, and to pretend that you’re driving a parent/friend. He said to take a deep breath right before you start, and imagine yourself passing Good luck!
@wildguy57 Just remember that if you fail you can take it again and again so that should calm you down. Also don’t make it a big deal just pretend that you are driving home from school on a normal day.
Today was my first day of school and all my teachers seem good natured and happy people. My English teacher scares me a bit, but I hope he will turn out all right. My APUSH teacher was giving a lecture about how important it is to study hard because it is our ‘first’ AP (most of my class are sophomores), so that was a bit funny, as I took Bio and Calc BC last year (I’m not trying to brag or anything it might come out like that but I’m not, I promise). I wonder when my classmates will figure out I am a junior and not a sophomore.
@Soccer1235 Which state do you live in? Only asking because the tenth is early compared to MA (my first day is the 31st lol)
@hyperbola My summer has been pretty eventful, that’s for sure! What about yours?
@kassh4 @awesomepolygot I know. Last year, when it snowed really hard, I had to literally cross a two three-lane roads multiple times because the sidewalks weren’t plowed yet.
@Soccer1235 I remember during my Computer Math class, it took the rest of the class, who were all seniors, two months to figure out I was a sophomore. It also took my Pre-AP World History class, all freshmen, 8 months to figure out I was a sophomore! :)) I don’t talk that much in those two classes, so that’s probably why.
@0100001001 I live in Ohio, but some local schools start the 24th; my school district is just mean lol. Hahaha @ak2018 that’s probably why.
While I was at school for my Robotics meetings today, I decided to see my schedule with my counselor. I was honestly kind of disappointed when I saw it as I kind of got most of the bad teachers. She told me that my schedule is bound to change since most of our schedules do until a week after first week. Here’s my schedule, that will likely change:
Note: I also be putting the teacher’s last name initial because I’ll be talking about them. I’ll go ahead and put which floor the class us on because, why not?
Period 1 - Functions/Trigonometry - Mrs. B - 3rd Floor
Period 2 - AP Chemistry - Mr. L - 3rd Floor
Period 3 - Engineering Explorations 1/Robotics - Mr. M - 1st Floor
Period 4 - Spanish 2 - Mr. C - 2nd Floor
Period 5 - PLTW Principles of Engineering - Mr. S - 1st Floor
Period 6 - U.S. and Virginia History - Mr. W - 3rd Floor
Period 7 - AP English Language and Composition - Ms. V - 2nd Floor
This is, however, not how my day would go. We have blue and gold days. On blue days, we have periods 1, 2, 4, and 6 and on gold days, we have periods 1, 3, 5, and 7.
So this is how my days would go:
Blue Day Schedule:
Period 1 - Functions/Trigonometry - Mrs. B - Floor 3
Period 2 - AP Chemistry - Mr. L - Floor 3
Period 4 - Spanish 2 - Mr. C - Floor 2
Period 6 - U.S. and Virginia History - Mr. W - Floor 3
Gold Day Schedule:
Period 1 - Functions/Trigonometry - Mrs. B - Floor 3
Period 3 - Engineering Explorations 1/Robotics - Mr. M - Floor 1
Period 5 - PLTW Principles of Engineering - Mr. S - Floor 1
Period 7 - AP English Language and Composition - Ms. V - Floor 2
@Soccer1235 It was honestly sad too. They literally figured it out because they saw me wearing my Class of 2018 school shirt.
So here’s how I feel about each teacher:
Period 1: I’ve met her before and she’s pretty nice.
Period 2: I wanted the other AP Chemistry teacher! :(( She’s excellent at teaching Chemistry. I’ve heard my teacher is okay.
Period 3: He’s the new teacher so we’ll see how it goes.
Period 4: A lot of students lowkey think he’s a pedophile! :)) He has a tendency to touch you on your shoulder if you answer a question right. He also likes to yell at the whole class if one person acts up. I hate those kinds of teachers.
Period 5: He’s really good, especially at Physics. I heard he might be planning to take over as the PLTW program coordinator at my school. I ask heard he might be teaching only PLTW classes next year. I can see many students being mad about that, since he’s kind of everyone’s favorite Physics teacher.
Period 6: He’s really creepy, with a capital C! :)) I remember once, I had my phone out in the hallway as I was walking to the bathroom and he told me to put it away. I did, and then he continued to stare at me until I left the hallway. He looks like Frankenstein! :))
Period 7: She’s a really tough grader and is very strict. She also likes things to be written as if she wrote it, so that’ll be just peachy.
In a right triangle, seven times the degree measure of the smallest angle is equal to five times the degree of the middle sized angle. What is the measure of the smallest angle in degrees?
Does anyone know how to solve this sat math prob?
The largest angle is 90 so the smallest and the middle one add up to 90. let x be the small angle and y be the middle angle, so you get x+y=90 and 7x=5y now subsitute and solve for x. x=75/2.
So the three angles in the triangle are 75/2,105/2, and 90.
@wildguy57 Let me know if I messed up somewhere
@jjkmom The thing is, that might not work. But I had 0.5 credits and I only need 0.5 but it has to be an art of the same thing.
@sewin2music @ak2018 thanks for the encouragement! yeah it’s for ap lang and my assignment is to annotate the omnivore’s dilemma, analyze quotes, and also analyze other pieces of texts over the summer. it’s hard to fight procrastination but I’m working through it. i’m on page 95 woot
@wildguy57 confusing problems like that are exactly the reason I’m taking the ACT
@nyuhopeful44 Same! :))
