I mean im literally taking all college classes so idek @ak2018 I also want this really nice new computer so I’m trying to save my parents money lol.
Junior year seems so tough after the first day of school lol.
Well, I just came back from my old middle school. I spent most of the day volunteering there. I saw some of my old teachers and one in particular asked about what I was doing, what my classes were for next year, and my ECs. She asked me because I was already here before and she knows I’m very interested in VT. Her daughter is a current student there.
Anyway, I mainly just marked off 130 new 8th grade science textbooks, which took me about 2 hours. Those 8th graders better appreciate them! :))
I’m going to a pizza party in less than 2 hours for those who volunteered at the library this summer. I will also be receiving a certificate for earning the highest number of hours, which was 61.
Okay guys, I need to vent. My APUSH teacher is nice, funny and all, but that doesn’t cut it! He has us read the textbook (outside of class) and have lecture notes in class. That’s fine. My problem with this class is that we are reading chapter 3 outside of class, taking lecture notes for chapter 2 in class, and yet still being quizzed on chapter 3 material that we haven’t even discussed yet! The worst part is that the lecture notes and the textbook don’t even match up, even if we were just doing one chapter. I am so annoyed!! (Perhaps this annoyance was caused my my getting 11/17 correct with translated to like 33/50 in the grade-book… )
I can barely contain my excitement for schedule pickup tomorrow! My school treats it like a holiday: we all find out who’s in our classes, who our teachers are, whether we have to walk between buildings (or how much if we do.) We also get our parking spots and buy homecoming tickets— ahhhh I can’t wait!!
@swein2music I can relate. Our APUSH notes dont go over ANYTHING important just random stuff. You have to study by reading the book over and over. This class is gonna be a real struggle. Quiz over chapters 1 and 2 tomm. so nervous.
On the other note I beasted my AP Bio quiz. I think only me and 1 other person got a perfect. The average was a 9/15.
@sewin2music ooh that sucks. I haven’t started classes yet, but I had my APUSH teacher in 8th grade for social studies (my school is jr/sr high in the same building) and I know that his notes are good, so I guess I lucked out!
So I came back from my Community College Orientation (for High School students who are part of the program). And I decided to take Principles of Economics! Although I am excited, this year is going to be a living hell. I am just going to put my heart all into it, and see what happens.
@sewin2music I’m sorry…I heard from everyone that our new calc teacher doesn’t teach probably gonna be doing a lot of self studying this year ;-;
@nyuhopeful44 We get our official schedules on Friday.
Our schedules are going be up on Friday and that’s really it. We don’t get to meet teachers early or anything.
Usually, once the schedules are up online, on Parent Portal, people take screenshots of their schedules and post it on either Instagram or Twitter. This creates a kind of “domino effect”. Once one person sees someone’s schedule, they realize that it’s that time of the year again and go check to see their schedule, then that person will likely post it online. Students in my county do this in hopes of figuring out who their classmates will be. It’s actually pretty fun and exciting to learn who you’ll be with all year.
Well, I just realized that my bus also stops at a fitness center, which is right next to my neighborhood library. This means that, technically, I can go straight to the library everyday after school to study and do whatever!
school starts tomorrow and I feel a mixture of excitement and hatred. For one, our AP Bio and APUSH teachers do not teach at all. On the bright side, I got the ivy global prep book today in the mail! A big thank you to everyone who posted about it!

Random Question: Did any of you guys skip any grades or know someone who skipped/failed a grade?
I remember a talk with my parents a while ago that I actually went to preschool in 2003, not 2004. This means that I finished preschool earlier than most. I was in preschool from September 2003 to May 2004 and had a “gap year” between May 2004 and September 2005. My parents were given the option of letting me skip a grade and go straight to kindergarten, but for some reason never took the offer, so instead, I took a gap year. It’s weird how that if my parents actually let me skip a grade, I would be a senior right now.
I was 3 at the time I started preschool and I loved it. My brother, on the other hand, went to his first day of preschool and hated it so much he cried and had a tantrum when we tried to get him on the bus the next day. I was just standing there embarrassed. We eventually just had to drop him off at school ourselves. Ironically, he still doesn’t like school to this day. :))

@apple1893 I was just about to mention that on here lol :)) I saw the ACT one on Reddit. It’s basically a free online version of their prep books that come in PDF or Kindle format.
@ak2018 I posted the links about the kindle format. How do I get the PDF version?
@ak2018 Never mind… They posted a link http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/discussion/comment/19893542#Comment_19893542
