Anyways, I have to finish an essay, edit another essay, and finish practicing my speech (for my campaign) today. I also want to get some other work done, but those are my priority. I also need to take a SAT test, but forget that, I am too busy. I have taken a week off from SAT for school, and I don’t give a **** (I hope no one is offended by harsh language).
I need to do my econ homework, study for my precalc quiz, and do some physics stuff. I lost the charger for my graphing calculator, does anyone know if I can buy one at office max or something?
@nyuhopeful44 Check their website and see. If not, you will have to call the company to send you over another.
I have to finish a packet for Chapter 2 of my APUSH textbook by midnight tonight, and I have a parent show for marching band tonight around 6ish. Looks like it will probably end up being a late night for me (ugh).
@nyuhopeful44 Honestly, all you really need is the USB cable. What type of calculator do you have? I found a USB cable for ti-84 calculators for only $4 on Amazon, so you wouldn’t have to spend a lot for a replacement. There’s always eBay auction/marketplace too.
@nyuhopeful44 If you have a PS3/4 I think you can use that cord to charge your calculator too but yeah you can just find a generic one from ebay it doesnt have to be from the company.
@ak2018 I can’t remember anything from 9/11, but my parents told me a bit about what they remember. My dad was in Chicago for a business trip, he had rode a plane just two days before. He had to drive home with his co-workers, since planes weren’t allowed to fly. My mother had been out shopping when the first plane hit, she heard about what happened on the radio on the car ride home. My grandmother was watching my siblings and I, and when my mother came home they watched as the second plane hit.
I have an APUSH test tomorrow, and I haven’t even take notes on the chapters its on. RIP me
@apple1893 Oh my goodness, that’s so terrible. People can be so cruel!
What’s weird is, I honestly thought the term “brown” was pretty new. Before high school, I’ve never heard the word “brown” being used as racial identification. Now I’m hearing it a lot.
@nyuhopeful44 I would cry every time my mom changed the channel to the news that day.
Funny Story: One time, when I was four, I was watching Sesame Street on a VCR tape. Once the tape ended, I started to cry. I went to my mom crying and screaming, “BRING ELMO BACK!” :)) She didn’t know how to work a VCR tape at the time and she was also on the phone with a friend. She just gave me a “I don’t know what to do.” look, which made me cry even more.
@LeopardFire I hope your family was okay.
After 9/11 Arabic people were treated like crap. My dad is half and I’m a quarter with an Arabic last name. I get a lot of funny looks for it when people see it still.
Well, I think it’s time we go ahead and kick-off the S.N.H.C. for the night. I have to watch a video lecture on Stoichiometry for AP Chemistry, practice for my Average Atomic Mass, Stoichiometry, and Limiting Reagents Quiz tomorrow, practice stuff on Mechanical Advantage for POE!
Guess who’s back??? Me!
Sorry I haven’t been online - school got busy and my grades were tanking. But I’m back on! I’ll be here every so often since I have school, extra-curricular activities, and other things. Here’s a little catch-up from when I’ve been gone:
*I got a 3 on the AP Bio exam
*My class rank went up from 59 to 58 out of 278. GPA stayed the same at 3.667.
*I was awarded a medal from the US Navy Office of Naval Research at the science fair back in March.
*I had an internship in the Physics/Astronomy department at the local university over the summer in which I was a counselor at space camp for 3 weeks (and got my first aid/CPR certification to do so) and was, and still am, in a graduate student research group.
*The school year started back up on the first of the month and I’m very excited for the year!
Here’s my schedule for this year!
AP English Language and Composition
AP United States History
Calculus Lvl. 1
Honors Chemistry
Honors Band
I also (somewhat) updated my college list over the past few months!
Boston University
Caltech
Dartmouth
Harvard
McGill
New England Conservatory of Music
University of Arizona
UMaine
Yale
So far the school year is going well! I have all A’s in my classes, clubs start up next week, and I’m preparing for all-state jazz and regular band auditions. I’m also starting to prep for this year’s PSAT. Tomorrow I have my first quizzes of the year in my classes (I have 3. ugh). Also in the coming days I have an appointment with my guidance counselor to talk about me applying for a program at the local university so I can take a college-level astronomy course along with me considering submitting an application for the Yale Summer Program in Astrophysics this winter and on Thursday I’m auditioning for the local youth orchestra! It will be my 5th year in the orchestra! I’m looking forward to the coming days/weeks/months!
I’m happy to see some familiar usernames from before the hiatus!
@frazzledazzle Jesus H. Christ, you definitely know how to make a comeback! :)) We’re right in the middle of S.N.H.C. right now!
@ak2018 Ah yes, the wonderful Sunday Night Homework Club. Might as well join, seeing as though I have to study for APUSH and finish my French. :))
I am here for S.N.H.C!
I have to:
Read over my History essay
Read chem textoook
Go over my speech for School President a few times!
We are really busy! I LOVE IT!
@Marg532 I have my quiz over ch. 1 + 2 tomorrow for APUSH. Thankfully we haven’t done any DBQs yet. We are starting to analyze historical texts, though.
first time participating in S.N.H.C. and definitely won’t be my last
ALMOST DONE!
I participated in SNHC tonight haha (I didn’t post here because I was super concentrated) and finished my Chapter 2 packet (with around 15-20 minutes to spare haha)!
@frazzledazzle We haven’t started DBQs yet either, and I’m dreading the day that we do haha our teacher is really hammering in the fact that 5-7 sentences should fit on an index card with normal handwriting, so on our Chapter 1 test Friday, he actually photocopied index cards onto the test papers for us to write on instead of just giving us lines to write on haha
