@ak2018 WAIT WHAT?? CONGRATSS
@ak2018 Congrats, big guy! We’ll throw a mini thread party!
@snowfairy137 @arinuma Thank you!
I’m ready for my SAT score tomorrow to ruin my good mood! :))
You know what we haven’t done in a while, share our senior year schedules. Here’s mine:
World History and Geography from 1500
Economics and Personal Finance
AP Physics C
U.S. Government
AP Calculus BC
GEMS 12 (Philosophy/Study Hall)
AP Literature
Online (Year):
AP Computer Science A (All Year)
AP Psychology - Spring Semester
MEC 100 - Introduction to Aerospace Engineering and Technology
I think my school is still trying to figure out scheduling conflicts, so I won’t know my exact schedule for a while. Probably not until registration next year.
All I know is that I registered to take DE Calc, AP Calc AB, APUSH, and AP Lit. I am exempt from the placement test for DE Calc so I’m pretty happy that there’s one less test I need to take. Since I’m taking the rest of my courses at either Moravian or Lehigh, I won’t know my schedule until later. I register for those courses during the summer I believe. Hopefully I’m able to get rid of some gen eds.
I could have decided to graduate early since I only needed an English and a math, but I wouldn’t have been able to take AP courses or cheap college courses. Plus, I’m enjoying high school and being around my friends, so I want to make the most of it while it lasts
@ak2018 That’s amazing! Congrats!!!
Everyone here has been getting good news lately and it’s amazing!
@ak2018 Congrats, that is such an amazing accomplishment!!!
My schedule as I know so far is Honors English, Anatomy and Physiology, Honors Economics, College public speaking, Syracuse university public affairs credits, and gym class (mandatory). So all of those classes are part of a health program which I was selected to be in, but idk if it was the right choice over AP physics which I was told was not taught very well since this it is only its first year.
it is really the choice of honors classes over one AP.
I signed up for:
AP Euro
AP Lit
AP Stat
APES (I think that is the common abbreviation, right?)
Honors Latin IV
Classical Studies / Creative Writing
Fitness and Nutrition / Study Hall
Lunch <3
Fitness and Nutrition is basically P.E. for lazy people. I’m so happy that after this year, I never have to go to a regular P.E. class again!!
Does anyone else here have nightmares about school? I usually do around midterms/finals, typically pertaining to my math exams.
Recently I had several dreams about bombing APUSH research paper.
March SAT Scores ARE UP!!!
I just checked mine! Although it’s not much. I improved my composite score by 30 points.
620 M
630 CRW
1250/1600
Thanks for helping me through this guys. You know I just remembered? A few weeks ago, getting a 1250 was my goal after I felt trying to go for a 1300. Now that I’ve reached 1250, I’m not giving up! Hopefully with SAMS, I’ll get that 1300 in August. That my friends, is the new goal, and I hope you all see me reach it!
For those who took an AP history class this year, how fast does it go? My honors world history teacher is going to teach AP Euro next year and he said that they will need to go through 1-2 chapters a week. My school is on block scheduling so all AP courses will need to be fit into one semester. I’m taking APUSH next year so I was wondering how quickly you get through chapters and how long those chapters are?
@carmen00 I’m taking APUSH this year and it’s a full year course. We do at least one chapter per week. The course moves pretty fast especially if you have to teach yourself the material (bad teacher). To be honest, yes you need to read the textbook, but what I did to be ACTUALLY helpful we read AMSCO, fill out chapter-by-chapter AMSCO reading guides(can be found on many teacher pages online), and make key concept flashcards (use Adam Norris for base info). It really all dis in your drive and the structure of the class.
For next year, I plan on taking the following classes:
AP gov/honors econ
AP Bio
AP Physics I
AP literature
AP calc bc
Madrigals (adv. Choir)
I feel like there might be a scheduling conflict why calc bc and choir because they’re the same period this year, but I guess we’ll just have to see…
Im pretty sure my schedule next year will be:
AP gov + AP macro
AP calc BC
AP latin
AP Physics C
AP research
AP lit and comp
Agh, these next few weeks are gonna be absolutely horrible. Cant wait for AP tests ro be finished…
Also, i need help. Have any of you ever tutored for money? If so, how did you find people to tutor/how did you advertise and how much did you charge! (I really need money for this summer!)
Senior first semester classes:
Differential equations and linear algebra
Anatomy and Physiology 1
Classical physics 1
Psychology
@neonerudite I tutored through school, so maybe discuss with your school to see if they do tutoring over summer. Also, look at establishments around you, it’d help.
So for the dual enrollment at Lehigh, our school can only send in 3 applications. After seeing who else got in the top 3, I can tell I barely slid in. Lehigh actually forgot to send us the applications so I have to finish it over the weekend to get it in by the extended deadline. If I get accepted, I hope I can take some interesting classes there next year.
@ak2018 That’s wonderful. Congrats!!!
Random news: got my term result: rank still #4, mix of As and A+s, two Bs, 1 nasty horrible D I keep staring at.
I really keep staring at it. I can’t get it out of my head. It’s smiling at me. Grinning. It’s Geography, btw. 8->
@gigichuck KICK THAT D.
