My biggest fear for any ACT or SAT was to oversleep. Well the night before the 2016 ACT’s I cheered at one of my away basketball games which means I didn’t get to bed until midnight. Even though I set 4 alarms, I slept through every single one. My parents came into my room at 9 am the day of the ACT and told me I overslept. Moral of the story: set more than 4 alarms and get a good amount of sleep the night before. To this day it’s a large joke within my family and something I will never forget.

I also shadowed my doctor a couple of days ago and I loved every single minute of it. I was in the room with patients, got to see how they test for flu, do urine tests, and how they draw blood. I also got to see my doctors thought process and he spoke to me about school and why he chose to become a family physician. This whole experience made me even more excited for my future and I can’t wait for next week.

I got a 77 on the Physics Final. That class has screwed me so bad (it’s literally one whole GPA point below any of my other classes).

I’m so done with school (I’m glad to be applying early for college).

I have my robotics end of year social till late tonight then the sat 2 tommorow morning. Yaaaay.

SATs are in less than 12 hours. Ready to take my first, last, and only U.S History test

@acomfysofa Are you only taking U.S History or are you also taking another one?

I have the SAT tomorrow and I haven’t really studied… The score I already have is fine, but it would be great to go up ~50 points.

Today was the last pep rally of the year at my school. All of the seniors wore their college shirts. It seems like half of them are going to UConn, which makes me feel better about my own odds of getting in.

@kassh4 Just U.S History, I took the Math 2 a couple months ago and got a score that’s good enough for the universities I’m applying to

I’m not ready for subject tests at all. I’m probably going to bomb the Chemistry exam and take a different science in the fall (whoopee…). I also have Math 2 and US History. I might take Math 2 again in the fall depending on how well I do. US History is just a one-time thing to show that I’m not all about the STEM life and am “well-rounded”. I’ll do well (thanks APUSH).

to ease the tensions here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h7GvWEzQVVA this is literally the best youtube video you will ever see. oh my god.

@kassh4 I’ve seen her video before! God, she’s awesome.

@kassh4 I love the part where she starts freaking out even more seeing she got into Yale while still freaking out about Princeton. I’m so happy for her!

@kassh4 I have watched literally every college decision video out there and that one is my favorite. I loved how she got even louder when she got into Yale like she had me shook for her

SAT in U.S. History is in less than 3 hours. Apparently I’ll be one of the first or the first to take the test today on the American continent being in Nova Scotia (unless there are SAT takers in Newfoundland), so that’s neat to know

Just took the SAT US History test. It was easy and I wouldn’t be surprised if I got high-700 to 800.

About to take the SAT 2s ahhh

Also, (this will likely spark a debate very quickly) I have a college-related opinion question for you guys.

Do you believe that when it comes to large post-collegiate opportunities, such as jobs and internships with big-name companies, institutions, and organization, it does not matter where you go to college, so long as you have some kind of connections and get the experience?

Like, for example, do you believe that going to a big-name university will have a high or low effect on the rest of your career and you’d be fine so long as you have a good amount of experience?

For me, I believe more in the idea of finding connections, like I did with my NASA program, and going up from there. I feel like being able to surround yourself with people who have the same as well as different interests as you is a good way to figure out what path you might want to take. Like, literally just now, since I just got back from my atrocious SAT Math Level 2 test, I talked with this librarian I’ve known for a few months and she told me her husband works in Physics and is always looking for “youngsters like me” who are interested in the sciences. As of now, I’ve touched base with NASA, NOVEC, and Lockheed Martin and they all know I’m interested in working with them. I feel like making connections with “higher-up people” is always a valuable skill, especially in the career search.

Also, by atrocious SAT Math Level 2 test, I mean that I literally only answered like 30 questions out of 50. :((

I’m okay with a 600 at this point, since I’ll probably get some of those questions wrong.

@ak2018 I saw the people taking the Math 2 in my test room. They seemed to start off slowly then rush near the end lol. TBH it was satisfying watching them work while I finished my SAT 15 minutes early haha.

Though it seemed to be the same thing for the sciences too
