High School Class of 2018

@writergirl0316 yep went to the one in my state and it was ~kinda~ crowded. Really cool experience though :))

Women’s rights shouldn’t be a political thing. You’re a terrible person if you think people shouldn’t have equal rights.

I think the fact that Trump supporters assume that a march about empowering women is necessarily anti-Trump speaks volumes, to be honest.

I’m anti-Trump and women’s empowerment is really important to me. I didn’t march because my parents disapproved and my participation wasn’t a big enough deal for me to argue about, given that my parents wouldn’t have changed their minds.

Still, watch some news videos and read some articles on the march. Many of them (at least the ones linked on the front page of Yahoo) indicate that it is “against Trump” and I think it’s totally understandable for people who know nothing about it to assume that the entire march is centered around anti-Trump issues instead of women’s issues.

I had to study for midterms + I also hate crowds but my small town has had a Women’s March for the past 2 years now. I saw a bunch of pictures; I’m glad that even small towns can have big political views  I agree that it shouldn’t be political; my town has both Republicans and Democrats yet the Women’s March has had a huge turn out each year!

Also, on a random note…I had my 4th interview today, and somehow my interviewer and I ended up talking about Dr Pimple Popper/YouTube dermatology and plastic surgery videos and the effects of technology on young kids for 30 minutes? Not sure if talking about those topics indicates a good or bad interview :))

Guysss I get to ski tomorrow!!! For the first time in three weeks!!! Omg this is so exciting!!!

I marched at a smaller march in NY. I really enjoyed it as it brought out my true colors and let me embrace who I am without being judged.

I was in Boston this weekend and wished I went to the march in Cambridge, but I was really busy. I went to the one in my town last year and watched the national one on TV. It was amazing!

Eagles going to the Super Bowl! I never would’ve thought it’d be this year. This is crazy. As a diehard Philly fan, I can’t even process it yet.

I also spent like 4 hours today doing my stats hw that I procrastinated on. It’s my first ever online course, so hopefully I keep up.

I start my second semester tomorrow, and I’m kinda nervous. I’m gonna have a lot more time to myself this semester, so I’m just hoping to use it wisely.

@carmen00 I’m a diehard Pats fan. After hearing the performance the Eagles made today it’s going to be a good game!

@frazzledazzle I hope! The Patriots game was fun to watch since it was so close, but I think we all knew deep down you guys would come back. The blowout gave us a lot more confidence, in my opinion, but I still appreciate a good close game. All the best to the Pats and hopefully it won’t be a repeat of our last Super Bowl meeting!

So excited for the Patriots, its gonna be rough without gronk hopefully he recovers quickly!!

Accepted to Otis College of Art and Design  Not a top choice but I have an acceptance streak going which is always nice.

@julia35002 I’m worried about Gronk. Thankfully there’s 2 weeks so hopefully he recovers in time.

When you write a really awesome scholarship application essay and you go to submit it and you realize that not only is there a max word count, there’s a minimum word count too and you’re 300 words short. I may or may not be looking to see if I used any contractions…

Has anyone else been selected as a candidate for the Presidential Scholars Program? If so, are you going to use the press release packet? The people who run this thing seem like they really want the students to send out the press releases to their local media (they say “It is essential that the media receives this information promptly”) but I don’t know how I feel about doing that. Recognition is nice but it kind of just seems like a brag or a grab at attention if I were to send something about myself to a newspaper.

@18college1111 Ye, but I haven’t gotten any info yet. My friend was looking at the list and told me. I’m the only person from my school. Something that bothered me tho was this girl I used to know who goes to boarding school at Phillips Academy still claimed Idaho as her state of residence and she’s on the list which seems a bit unfair considering the state of Idaho public schools.

@ski_racer I went to a debate tournament in idaho and they were too cheap to turn up the heat for the weekend even though there were a buch of people there. So yeah, Idaho public schools are in a state.

Omg! Just checked my email and I got the PSP invite too! Its based on standardized test scores I think, and I got a 36, but two of my subjects were 35s so I didn’t think I was gonna get it bc Washington is pretty competitive.

@snowfairy137 so you could see how it might be unfair for someone who goes to boarding school in Massachusetts or wherever to be competing with Idaho public school kids.
