High School Class of 2018

@carmen00 I’m actually having the opposite problems. One of my sophomore-level DE classes expects English Comp I and II as a prerequisite, which I have credit for, but via a 4 on AP English Lang junior year. One assignment prompt specifically said, “think back to chapter such and such in Comp I”, and I was all like, “yeah, I sorta didn’t take that…”

Best day ever. Some guy in my class got roasted by the teacher for wearing a hoodie with guns on it. Some people are so insensitive… like a shooting happened literally a day ago. It’s a delicate time, don’t act like the world revolves around you, moron.

@MangoLover11223

Wow, edgelords these days. What I tell myself in order to maintain some faith in humanity is that teenagers aren’t fully mature yet, so there’s some hope that people like that can become decent, but honestly, there are some people who never manage to grow past a teenager’s mentality, sadly.

I hate physics. I can’t stand AP Physics C: Electricity and Magnetism. My teacher sucks and I’m not learning anything. He’s new and I’m pretty sure we’re behind.

@nephilim13 What are you covering right now?

@kaash4 Electric circuits. I am so bad at physics.

Literally read this whole thread for almost a year and I just wanted to say congrats on all your accomplishments. It’s amazing of your hard work getting payed off and with such a diverse amount of students as well. No matter what path you guys take, all of you will do amazing things.

Are there any college youtubers you like to watch? I like to watch Tasha Farsaci, AnneMarieChase, Andrienne Hill, and Athena NV (she’s a new one but she makes me want to attend MIT). These youtubers make me so excited for college!

I watch CatCreature, who goes to my dream school, RISD. That’s about it though, I like to go around and watch different reaction/decision videos

@nephilim13 I love Katherout, AnneMarieChase(like you) and Joi Wade.

I’ve figured out how I’m going to announce my college decision! First, I’m going to borrow a friend’s parent’s credit card to buy three shirts: “University Dad”, “University Mom”, and “University Class of 2022”. I’ll reimburse the parent in cash. Second, my bff, the one who shot my senior pictures, will do another picture of me once my shirt arrives. It will be Superman-style, if you know what I mean. Third, my parents will open the packages with their shirts. Fourth, I will post the picture of me in my shirt on Instagram with the caption “a decision” and #UniversityClassOf2022. Fifth, my little bro will take a picture of my parents and I in our shirts for them to post on Facebook. It’s genius. In the meantime, whenever anyone asks me where I’m going to college, I will use it as a self-promotional opportunity and direct them to my Instagram page.

Had my interview for Gettysburg College today! I think it went great and I really loved the atmosphere at the college.

@ski_racer I’m doing a Superman-style photo, too, except with me revealing the college shirt from behind my graduation gown. I’ve mainly thought about what I’m doing if I get into my dream school, MIT. If I get adMITted and choose to comMIT, I’m going to post a photo on Instagram and Facebook of me wearing my MIT t-shirt holding my acceptance certificate in one hand and MIT balloons in the other with the caption “comMITted #mit2022”.
I also know what I’m doing the night of decision. I have to be at jazz band rehearsal (which is going on when decisions are released) since we have jazz states that Saturday, so I’m going to escape to a practice room at school to check my decision, either celebrate or cry with my jazz band friends and sister, and then celebrate or cry over pie, since it’s Pi day after all.

I’ve thought about this way too much. :frowning:

@frazzledazzle I’m literally going to do the same thing. After watching all the MIT youtubers, I am absolutely obsessed with MIT!

@nephilim13 I haven’t watched any MIT Youtubers, although I will soon! I’ve been on campus a few times and I love the Boston area, resulting in my massive infatuation with MIT!

I got my decisions back from both of the colleges I applied to and luckily, I got two acceptances. I’m already pretty sure of the one I’m going to attend. I feel like my senior year experience in terms of picking out colleges and making decisions has been really short and uneventful. I guess that’s a positive, in that I’m not as distracted from my schoolwork as I would be if I had applied to a greater number of schools or more prestigious schools.

Tomorrow I leave for USC! I’m so nervous for the scholarship interview, but I’m excited to spend more time on campus as I visited two years ago, which was before they finished the construction of five buildings.

I got an email from my AO who congratulated me on my acceptance. I had an interview with her back in october, and she was really nice. At the end of her email, she included a link to something she thought I might be interested in based on my application. It was a small detail, so I thought that was nice! Really shows that she didn’t just skim my app.

Also, I had my first test in my American foreign policy class. Yikes. I only had a solid guess on 70% of the questions, so I’m hoping for a REALLY good curve.

I got hit with some motivation today, so I finished a few assignments that weren’t due yet. Also, I need to finish packing since I leave for USC right from school tomorrow. My dog knows I’m leaving since I brought out the suitcase, so she’s upset right now. I can’t imagine what she’s gonna do when I go to college.

I’ve been over the “MIT bug” since I visted and realized I liked other (lower ranked) campuses and programs more. Still applied for some reason but there’s no way I could afford it.

ThisSaturday is my birthday and all my friends are busy. Anyone have any advice on what to do? ):
