We just had a CyberPatriots competition this past weekend and my team scored really high
do you guys know how to stay quiet in class? i tend to talk a lot in spanish and chemistry, and I am scared its annoying my teachers. I try to stay quiet, but people keep talking to me and the teachers always catch me with my response, most of the time being 'Be quiet, I am trying to listen." It sucks honestly because I am a good student but I feel like my mouth is holding me back… i am also very dramatic if u couldnt tell. Any advice for this blabbermouth?
@anan16 maybe just telling whoever you’re talking to to wait a minute until the teacher is done talking. Chewing gum might help too idk.
Also I MIGHT BE GOING TO UGANDA FOR 5 WEEKS THIS SUMMER AGH!!
@IAmNotCreativ OpenStax textbooks are free and neat!
CrashCourse is awesome, and they do indeed have physics.
On another note, it looks like I’ll get to do some research after all!
@anan16 yeah this happens to me too. Maybe you could quietly hold up a finger or something to politely let them know that you’ll talk in a few seconds? That’s what I do and it works. Or just straight up tell the person that you can talk later so you guys don’t get in trouble
Thanks @OMPursuit, I’ll check them out.
@anan16 Before class, ask whoever usually talks to you to not do so during class (say something like, “some of the material is confusing me so I really need to pay attention. Please don’t talk to me during class because I’ll get distracted”).
If they continue to talk to you, ignore them, they’ll get the message.
I have an A in Algebra 2 again =D
Ready to take a massive L in English though…
I have an English presentation tomorrow and I really don’t want to do it sos
I have my IB Personal Project practice presentation tm and I don’t want to do it
I have a math test tomorrow and I don’t wanna do it.
Really want to go to caltech, stanford, or princeton, but fml I’m not going to get in based on my ecs
Same. I get really frustrated because there is very limited options for extracurriculars at my school/town, and since my school is rather small most of the clubs all end up doing the same things and events. On CC I see all these kids involved in all these unique ecs and summer programs and I don’t know how I’m expected to compare.
I have an annotation check + test in English, an AP Chem test, and a ton of English, pre-calc, and AP Chem homework and I don’t wanna work on any of it.
@shaneyboy123 What about community service?
Do you guys have homework over thanksgiving break? Yikes.
I do 8’) @awesomepolyglot
@hab0tan your ECs don’t have to be that great
My orchestra teacher gave me a 76% on my playing test when there was only one very minor thing wrong with it
@awesomepolyglot, yup, I have a ton. Reading 3 25-page AP World chapters, finishing a novel (but that’s the fun part :D), completing an entire packet of AP Calc review problems, etc. And there’s more…
@shaneyboy123 Gosh that sucks. For me, a lot of my ecs are related to service or politics. You could just try reaching out to local organizations to make your own opportunities – like for me, I was really into the anti-domestic violence movement, so I asked my church if I could organize something. Eventually, I got into the social justice board in my church, where I was the only person under 40 (LOL i just realized this actually) and I’m now making this babysitting group with my friends to help out a foster family organization (which the social justice board was helping out)
