High School Class of 2020

I‘m officially done with sophomore year!!!

I still have like two weeks left. What classes are you guys doing next year?
I’m taking these
APUSH
AP Lang
AP Calc AB
College Algebra DE (required)
Humanities DE
Psychology DE
Research

@coolboy456781 Same but AP chem and AP Physics instead of DE.

@coolboy456781 I’m taking:
APUSH
AP Calc BC
AP Chem
AP Research/11th Grade Gifted American Literature
German 2 Honors
Theater Fundamentals

I’m taking
U.S. gov DE
AP Lang
Literature 11
Envirnmental Science DE
Pre-Cal
Latin 4
Yearbook
And (hopefully) Computor science (if it doesn’t fit into my schedule than A.P stats)

All your classes look fantastic! My schedule for next year is gearing up to be:

AP Chemistry
AP Psychology
AP Biology/IB Biology HL1 (co-ceded class)
IB English HL1 (I think it’s co-ceded by AP Lit, but it may be AP Lang?)
IB European History HL2
IB Math HL2 (Statistics)/AP Stats (blegh, I’m so much worse at stats than I am at calculus)
IB Spanish B SL1
AP American Gov (first semester) & TOK (second semester)

Right now my schedule for next year is:
AP Chem
AP Environmental Science
AP World H (took US History this year)
AP Lang
Honors Precalc
Latin 1 (already took 4 years of Spanish)
Health
School ended on Wednesday and I have survived sophomore year!

@Candyblossom1245 Have a great summer!

I did post my junior schedule a few months back, but I will put it here again so that you guys can view it more easily. You guys have very rigorous schedules! Have fun and good luck in your classes! I am going to be taking:

AP English Language
AP US History
Honors Pre-Calculus
AP Physics 1
AP Psychology
Honors Spanish 4 (It’s the first time they’re offering an honors GPA boost for world languages at level 4, so I am curious what it will be like.)
Philosophy/World Religions

@SaraiM1 I have taken AP World History, so if you need any advice on it, feel free to ask me!

Have a good day!

I’m taking

AP Physics I and II
AP Chinese
AP Lang
AP CS A
Pre-Calc Honors

Was gonna do APUSH, but didn’t want to take a class that I had 0 interest in. I’ve also already taking two AP history classes, so I’m pretty much done with that. No more writing DBQs, SAQs, and LEQs for me!

Also y’all grades came out today and I got straight As in my classes except for Algebra II Honors, which I got a B+ in. This really sucks because my school’s grading system make all types of Bs (B+, B-) equal to Bs on transcripts, which means that it’ll show that I got a B in the class.

How screwed am I? I’m an Asian female sophomore going into STEM with a B in a math class…yIKES.

@needtosucceed27 Please don’t worry! As long as you do well in Pre-Calc, I am sure you will be okay. They like upward trends, I hear. Right? If it makes you feel any better, I did really bad in Geometry. Also, fellow Asian here as well! Hi!

Have a good day!

I have Tuesday, and then I’m done. So far, straight As, but I haven’t gotten either my math or English exam.

i’m taking

ap environmental science
spanish 4 honors
ap us history
english 3
ap us gov/ap comparative gov
precalc honors
world religions

As for my final grades, I got all As except for a B+ in my AP Micro/Macroeconomics class. Also, @needtosucceed27 don’t worry if you do well in Precalc it shows improvement in math so I wouldn’t stress out about a B in Algebra 2.

Just got my 2nd PSAT result back from when I took it two weeks ago with Princeton Review (it was an actual test… like in a classroom), and I got a 1360. I got a 1230 on my first PSAT, so I hope that gives some people some reassurance for their score. I didn’t study by the way. The test was directly from College Board, so it wasn’t some weird test.

@anthonytheboy Haha yea, hopefully! I’m not trying to aim really high, like Harvard or MIT, but I’m trying to get into UIUC, Georgia Tech, and those types of schools. I also did really bad in Geometry, but that’s because (for some reason) I can’t understand geometry at all, but I’m decent in Algebra.

@SaraiM1 Thank you! I was really worried about it.

@ab2002 Congrats on that score increase! That’s really impressive; I got a 1310 on the PSAT that I took this year (rip), and am hoping to improve so I can get NMS as a senior.

I think I flopped on my first try, lol. When I took the PACT as a freshman, I scored a 28, so I was a bit confused when I got a 1230 on my PSAT.

@ab2002 Congrats on your PSAT score increase!

@needtosucceed27 I feel you on the colleges part. My top school is one of the Ivy Leagues, so I completely understand, except I plan on going into the humanities instead of STEM. I’m sure you will do well in Pre-Calc, though. From what I’ve heard, it’s mostly Algebra 2 with new content, so if you brush up on Algebra 2, and make sure you take your time when learning Pre-Calc, you’ll be okay. I feel you on Geometry as well. I can not understand it. The only thing I liked from the class were proofs.

Have a good day!

I am surprised that I haven’t hit the “block” everyone says that you hit in math. I got a 99 both semesters in Honors Geometry, and I got a 96 first semester in Honors Algebra II. I am kind of scared for next year, though. Honors Precalc is renowned as difficult at my school.

@ab2002 Precalc was supposed to be pretty hard at my school, too. Use Khan Academy over the summer and you’ll be fine.
Precalc was actually (to date) the only math class in which I got 100s on almost everything  so don’t sell yourself short!
