High School gpa and Test Score

I was wonder what would some one with a low high school gpa (lower then 3.0) and test score (lower then 25 act) would have to do in college to have a chance at transferring into a top 50 university.

They’d probably start you off in lower level classes. You most likely won’t get a transfer. But keep your GPA up in college and then for grad school aim for an IV Leaugue. My cousin did poorly in high school, went to Towson University, excelled and is now attending Johns Hopkins University on scholarship. There is hope!

There are plenty of good schools. Why the focus on top 50? and top of what scale?

lycoris did he apply their for grad school

Arsenal18, are you international? Not trying to sound mean, but you need to improve your writing skills. Top 50 colleges want to see high grades in college. It will be hard to,get high grades without working on your writing. Do an online course, watch videos, get writing guides, get a tutor, visit the school writing center. Good luck.

Oh, I’m sorry about my poor grammar. Let me rephrase my question. My question was, Can a student with a low high school gpa and test score have a chance of transferring into a prestigious university. If possible what would the student have to do to achieve that goal.

It will depend upon the school and their transfer requirements. Some universities will not consider HS test scores or GPA, but only consider your GPA/EC’s at your current college or community college. You need to check each school’s website for their transfer requirements.

Generally highly competitive (i.e. prestigious) Us DO consider HS records. But definitely check all web sites.
