Im not sure what SAT subject test I should take? Also should I take the ACT?
Also how hard are admissions now that its officially an NYU school?

I have a 3.4 gpa(plus Im a girl!)
Intended major- Comp Sci

Forgot to add IB Diploma candidate

Since polytechnic school of engineering is a engineering school they would like to see your strengths in engineering. So I recommend taking subject tests such as math 1, math 2, physics, chemistry. As for ACT, NYU does accept it so take it if you think you will do good, if not just don’t send it, it won’t hurt. But SAT score alone is enough, so you don’t need ACT. Being a girl sure counts as minority in computer science, but you’ll need to get a higher GPA than 3.4(weighted?), aim for at least above 3.6 GPA, and take some challenging classes in senior year. Also if you are going for computer science, try to take classes related to that, such as data structure, AP computer science, web design, etc.

No engineering classes except for IB Design Tech at my school :frowning: 3.4 is UW - 3.58 is weighted

@EndlessLoop are the acceptance rate of getting into Poly NYU same as getting into NYU? I really want to get into Poly NYU.

@breindy , yes since NYU polytechnic school of engineering is now an official school of NYU, poly’s acceptance rate dropped over half to and is averaged into NYU’s acceptance rate this year. Also, just in case you don’t know, NYU’s admissions team is handling Poly’s application now, and to apply to NYU poly you must apply using NYU’s common application. However this should not discourage anyone to apply since scores and numbers aren’t the only thing they look at.
