I’m currently a sophomore but I am 16 which makes me eligible to apply. I am super interested in the PSYC-1 one. However, I’ve NEVER taken a psych class, so far for sciences I’ve take Honors Physics, and by the end of this year I will have done AP Physics 1 and 2, and Honors Chem. I’m a pretty good student, all As except for a B+ in US History, but I’m no genius or anything. I just want more information on the research program because I can’t find much on it. How competitive is it? How much prior knowledge do I need to have? Is it even worth it to apply? Even looking at the application scares me because I have no previous laboratory/research experience and we haven’t learned much about it in school… How the heck am I supposed to write an essay on something I’ve never done or learned about? It just sounds so interesting and I think I’d have so much fun with it. Plus, I feel like I’d really learn a lot from it and its free. I can’t afford to pay for any fancy math/science camps so when I came across this I got really excited. I was just wondering where I could find more information, I scoured the website but what are the odds of a rising junior getting in? What prior knowledge do I need? Do I have ANY shot of getting in? Thank you for any information you can give me!
