High School Schedule?

It looks like I’ll have an extra open period senior year and I’m not sure how to fill it.

I have three options: AP Chemistry, AP U.S. History or Post Secondary.

As a person who plans on majoring in drama and English, what do all of you suggest?

AP Chem would allow you to get a pesky science credit out of the way at many schools, especially since your major has nothing to do with it. If you’re not a science person, however, it might be a little difficult; if you want an easy senior year, I recommend U.S. History. It’s a lot of information, but I never found it challenging.

What courses are available through Post Secondary?

Since you’re humanities oriented, I would say AP US History

AP U.S. History is fun! Take it!

I believe I can take an Intro to Playwriting and a Creative Writing class (each a semester long), but I’ll already have two open periods senior year (and I would have three if I didn’t take AP Chem or AP U.S History).

I’m just not sure if colleges prefer to see post secondary or AP courses.

If I do take an AP course though, (yes, you’ve convinced me) I’m going to take AP U.S. History.

Thanks to everyone who is replying! I really appreciate it!

P.S. When I stated that I’ll have two open periods senior year, I was looking at taking classes that are acting centric, because I’m very nervous about my auditions and I thought the extra knowledge would help. (I know colleges are more concerned about your talent then class schedule and GPA in most cases, so I have no second guesses about post secondary in that area.)

I’m just not sure if they prefer AP or Post Secondary for English programs.

AP is preferable when it’s available because it’s more standardized. If you could take an advanced class in Post Secondary that isn’t offered through AP (multivariable calculus, for example) that would also be good.
