I’m getting ready to sign up for my 10th grade courses, and I can’t decide on one thing. There is a two-year course offered at my school called advanced premedical study. It’s pretty rigorous course yet it is not considered an AP class. If I choose not to take this course, I will only be taking one elective (thus I will have one period open for both my sophmore and junior year) Yet I am already taking a pretty challenging courseload and I don’t know if it is smart to add on a rigorouse course like adv pre-med. So would it be smarter to just leave an open period? Even though colleges look closely at our sophmore and junior year?

If you’re looking at medical, I think it would be wise to take it. At my school, it’s the complete opposite; if you take advanced courses, there are only one of them per day, and most electives only run certain periods. I signed up for Advanced Creative Writing and Drama; I got kicked out and am now taking concert band and a Lab Assistant period :)
