Just piece of advice from experience.
- Check all BSMD programs that you plan to apply. See what their SAT cutoff and GPA cutoff plus deadlines.
- Check requirements to apply and stay in the program.
- Check what BSMD guarantees and what GPA in college and MCAT needed.
Here where you can get many surprises.
Some programs maybe regional (or heavily prefer local students, or minorities) - if I am not mistaken Augusta, Cincinnati etc.
You are ORM. So getting to medical school is going to be difficult. Your SAT is on low end (people even with 1550+ may not make it), your GPA is also not 4.0. So BSMD going to be problematic.
Look at outcome. If 50% of students from BSMD do not get to med school ask yourself is it worth it.
If programs guarantees only interview, I would cross it. If program requires MCAT 510, I would think a lot before paying 80k per year with no guarantee. What if you will get 508?
If I were you, I would strongly look into BS/DO programs. Your chance to land in a good BSMD with guaranteed spot in medical school is quite slim.
BTW, you did not take even AP Chem yet. You know Org Chem is MD dream killer.
