High School Student Applying to Multiple BS/MDs, Singer+biomed [NC resident, 3.8 GPA, 1450 SAT]

Just piece of advice from experience.

  1. Check all BSMD programs that you plan to apply. See what their SAT cutoff and GPA cutoff plus deadlines.
  2. Check requirements to apply and stay in the program.
  3. Check what BSMD guarantees and what GPA in college and MCAT needed.
Here where you can get many surprises.
Some programs maybe regional (or heavily prefer local students, or minorities) - if I am not mistaken Augusta, Cincinnati etc.
You are ORM. So getting to medical school is going to be difficult. Your SAT is on low end (people even with 1550+ may not make it), your GPA is also not 4.0. So BSMD going to be problematic.
Look at outcome. If 50% of students from BSMD do not get to med school ask yourself is it worth it.
If programs guarantees only interview, I would cross it. If program requires MCAT 510, I would think a lot before paying 80k per year with no guarantee. What if you will get 508?
If I were you, I would strongly look into BS/DO programs. Your chance to land in a good BSMD with guaranteed spot in medical school is quite slim.
BTW, you did not take even AP Chem yet. You know Org Chem is MD dream killer.
