I am currently a high school sophomore and I have been thinking about my future. I really enjoy high school, but I hate all of the busy work and the occasional unmotivated teacher. I had straight A’s in ninth grade and currently I have all A’s. However, the only class I am really enjoying is my AP European History class. My teacher is motivated and passionate about teaching, doesn’t give us busy work, and treats us like adults. I wish more of my teachers were like this. I have an older brother in 11th grade, and he is taking many AP courses, but he really only likes his AP Biology teacher. He has so much busy work and he hates it as well. I really don’t want to experience what he is having to do, which is why I’m thinking ahead. Also, for the past two years I have had the same English teacher, and rather than teaching us how to write properly and improve it, all we did was busy work, and I hated it. I have been thinking about dropping out of high school after tenth grade and going to community college for eleventh and twelfth grade, but as a college student. I would then transfer to a UC school, and spend two years there.
Overall, I just hate all the busy work of school and the unmotivated teachers. I want to be challenged with harder classes and learn more rather than just completing useless busy work. I REALLY need help and some advice!
