High school year outside of school

I applied for the academic year NSLI Y abroad scholarship but got rejected. I am in 9th grade and will try again next year. But for my 10th grade year, I would still like to spend it outside of my regular school.

An example of what I want would be semester schools. For instance, for my 11th grade year, I will be applying to the mountain school. But I still want something for my 10th grade year.
I do not want to spend my time studying outside of regular school for college. I am doing this or myself. I want to continuously be surrounded in new environments and passionate peers and I find regular school to be tedious among other descriptions.

I would prefer if a program suggested also had a financial aid component.
If you know of any opportunities please let me know

Island School in Bahamas has something similar. Credits that transfer to high school. They have some sort of affiliation with Lawrenceville School.

There are limited options for your 10th grade year-the one semester school I know of that takes sophomores is Swiss Semester, which is a semester studying in Zermatt, Switzerland and involves a lot of outdoor activities. I definitely recommend looking into more semester schools as you go into your junior year, though. The School For Ethics and Global Leadership (SEGL) in Washington, DC is an incredible program, like The Mountain School, but it focuses on global policy and political science. SEGL also has need-blind admissions and fulfills 100% of demonstrated need. There is also the Island School, CityTerm, and School Year Abroad which I know are also reputable programs.
