I am a fan of repeating for younger kids. I have seen, with two kids at boarding schools, that the younger or more immature kids have a much harder time socially. If a school is suggesting repeating they’ve seen something in your kid that’s a warning sign to them. They see a lot more kids than you do and they know the social scene at their school. Take their advice. Being young is zero benefit, being slightly more mature is a benefit.
