Highly publicized child prodigies and lack of updates on their outcome?

Just read a reference to an old court case by a child prodigy’s parents and wondering whatever happened to their case and if he is indeed an oncologist now or not? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/discussion/26543/child-prodigy-attending-ucla/p1#Form_Body

It’s puzzling why media posts so much about new child prodigies every year but does almost no follow ups.

Child prodigies do grow up. I’m speculating here, but perhaps they may discover, after many years of attention, they prefer their privacy.
