Highly Recommended Courses On Assist

Hi, on assist.org my major report says that it is highly recommended to take a series of chemistry and organic chemistry. I was wondering if I needed to take it in order to be accepted by the TAG program. Chemistry classes are always impacted and I can never get my hands on them so I was wondering if they would let me take the courses once I am admitted into the school.

Which major at which target school?

In any case, if you do not take them before transfer, you will need to take them after transfer, which can delay graduation (extra cost) or consume schedule space that you could otherwise use for interesting electives (whether in or out of your major).

I am planning to TAG into UC Davis and I am majoring in Clinical Nutrition.

Try looking for the chemistry courses at other nearby community colleges. It really is to your advantage for both admission and on-time graduation to complete as many lower division courses as you can before transfer.

Something to keep in mind: Most CCs won’t let you take organic chemistry until you finish the chemistry series.
So, if you’re planning on applying in the fall, you’ll probably only have time to finish the chemistry series and will have to take ochem at Davis.
