@ $95 per test, should my son take AP tests if getting scores of 3 of 5? Son gets A,s in regular AP classes but got 3,s on 2 AP tests so far with 3-5 more to go until graduation next year.

If son can try a little harder he may benefit by possibly getting college credit to satisfy breadth requirements when he gets to college.

Does he know what he’s interested in majoring in? It would be great to get 4s or 5s in those subjects in order to place into higher level classes and leave room for double major or research opportunities instead of fulfilling degree requirements that could have been completed through AP coursework.

Look up the AP credit charts of possible colleges and universities he may go to.

However, if he goes to college which allows skipping introductory courses with his AP scores, and he wants to take more advanced courses in those subjects, it would be a good idea for him to try the college’s old final exams in the courses that may be skipped, in order to make sure he really knows the material from the college’s point of view.
