highschools

so I’m the only one applying from my highschool and I have never heard of a graduate from my highschool actually attending WUSTL. Also I think there’s only like 5 people from Maine who are attending Washu at the moment. Does this mean anything? Do they consider geographic region or the amount of people applying from your highschool?

I talked with the rep in Colorado, which is a state that they take 11 from each year, which isn’t as small as Maine. However, he told me that the state you are from plays NO factor in admissions decisions. Every single WashU student is qualified to go there. I didn’t ask if they will take multiple people per HS, but he made a very large point that geographic diversity is not something that WashU thinks about.

I talked to a college rep that takes geographic diversity in mind, Yale U., and he told me that the acceptance rate for my area was favored…my “region” of the state had an acceptance rate .6 higher than the national average. To be honest it really doesn’t help.
