Hiking/running trails near Princeton

I was curious if there are trails for running and hiking near campus, and if they are also used for hiking and running in the winter. I heard the Mountain Lake area is nice and has some trails, but it seems small from the map I've seen.

Are there particular trails popular with Princeton University students/faculty/staff?

Check out the Princeton Running Club's website for lists of trails (not all the routes are trails, but many of them are).

Depending on how far you want to go, there's Mountain Lakes, the Institute Woods, Cook Nature Preserve, etc. etc.

In fact, you should join the running club. They run through the winter (in basically the same places - it doesn't snow hard enough in Princeton for it to make a difference).

If you want mountains to hike, though, you're going to be sorely disappointed.
