While I dislike the extreme emphasis placed on rankings by many college applicants, rankings can often be a useful proxy for the well-being, stability, and academic quality of a college. So it should be no surprise that Hillsdale has jumped from #83 National Liberal Arts college in 2014 to #69 in this year’s US News ranking! (If memory serves, they were ~#100 in 2013-- they are most definitely an up-and-coming school.)

Other facts and statistics:

–72% of the classes have fewer than 20 students, and only 1% have more than 50.
–For a school of its caliber, Hillsdale is extremely affordable-- tuition as of this year is $24,000/year, with room and board coming in at around $10,000 (not taking into account the abundant financial aid and merit scholarships.)
–In the Princeton Review Rankings, Hillsdale is ranked in the top 10 for Professors Get High Marks, Most Accessible Professors, and Happiest Students.
