<p>UMich offers Hindi courses and Urdu courses separately (i.e. Hindi-Urdu is not a course). Although the written script is very different, their grammatical differences are very minimal. I was wondering whether it would be possible to take both Intro to Hindi and Intro to Urdu in my first year (and whether it is a good idea or not). The only problem is that first year language classes usually meet really often so that could hinder my scheduling for other classes. But in terms of the workload, I’m sure that they two will overlap a good amount.</p>
