Hispanic Studies Major

<p>Does anyone know exactly what the Hispanic Studies Major entails? Is this similar to a Spanish major?</p>

<p>BC doesn’t have a “Spanish” major per se, but the “Hispanic Studies” Major is essentially the same thing. Students take 10 courses in Spanish. The intro-level courses typically cover grammar and an introduction to more rigorous conversation, reading, and writing. The upper level courses typically focus on literature and writing about Spanish or Latin American culture. Hispanic Studies is one of my two majors at BC, and I have had a phenomenal experience with the department!</p>

<p>I’m in the Carroll School, so it’s Finance. Contemplating a switch to accounting though…</p>
