<p>As a history major, I doubt you will frequently be asked to sit down for 45 minutes, given 8 tiny snippets of documents, and asked to write an essay on them.
However, the premise of the DBQ is to teach the student to read primary and secondary sources, glean the information they offer, and analyze their strengths and weaknesses. As a history major, you will certainly be using those techniques to a great extent.</p>
