I moved into my on campus yesterday and have been unpacking. Earlier, i made a discovery of a previous tenents backware. Several of the pans are metal and one is glass and are in good condition. They also seem to be of a higher quality as well.

I intend to speak with the RA about it. Perhaps the original owners can be found or something.

Do what you plan - talk to the RA to see if the previous owner can be found and if they want the stuff, otherwise, it’s yours IMO. I don’t think you should just keep it without making some attempt at finding the owner.

Note - IMO you shouldn’t actually ‘give’ it to the RA - just see if they can track down the owner who can send you an email - or not.

They may well be like our D who ran out of time to finish packing & just left whatever she couldn’t manage at her old place. It would be kind if you notify the RA & then contact the previous owner to see if they want it back & will come & fetch it at a time & place convenient TO YOU (who knows, you may make a new friend and/or get some great baked goods)–in any case you will have a clear conscience by making the effort.
