From the colleges’ Facebook page:
"A Message to Prospective Students
Part of leading a life of consequence is participation in active citizenship. Peacefully exercising your right to protest will not jeopardize admission to Hobart and William Smith, even if you are disciplined or suspended. We encourage students to stand up for what they believe in."
Colorado College sent out something similar – perhaps the exact same wording. I believe many schools did so, so that students don’t need to worry about that national walk out day thingamabob.

Marjory Stoneman Douglas. Wellesley 1912. Appropriately, her alma mater posted that that students who report disciplinary action for participation in peaceful protests related to issues of public concern will not be disadvantaged in the application process.

Students penalized for meaningful, peaceful participation in demonstrations will not be negatively impacted in our admissions process because they participated. Protection and promotion of civil discourse is central to the Vanderbilt experience and values.
I’ve seen several other posts on Twitter regarding this issue. Jason Kander called on his alma maters (American & Georgetown) to take a position and I saw him retweet from one of them. Not sure about the other.
