<p>Have any of you participated in the HOBY leadership seminar? What’s it like? How do you get selected to go to the national one? I’m going next week</p>
<p>I attended HOBY PA-East last year and it was one of the best weekends of my life! I know that sounds cliche, but it was an absolutely incredible experience. You are surrounded by smart, driven, and committed students as you attend lectures and do group activites. Almost everything focuses on the aspects of being a leader and what you should do with your position, but most people I met took away much more than this. For many students, it’s the first time to be in a dynamic environment, surrounded by other students just like them. For everyone who feels like they are alone in wanting to achieve, this weekend will show you how much you have to look forward to in life and will provide you with an incredible network. I don’t want to go into much more detail about the events and such becasue I don’t want to spoil any of the weekend for you. Just be ready to cheer a lot…</p>
<p>EAST PA?!? So am I. What a coincidence, lol. How was temple? The dorms? and how do they select people to go to the national level one?</p>
<p>This sounds great! I wasn’t looking forward to it THAT much but now I am.</p>
<p>Son went to NC and then the World Congress in DC. Enjoyed it and thought it was a great program. Still keeps in touch with other students around the world. Just go and be yourself but remember you were chosen to go and PARTICIPATE. Just jump in because when it’s over you can’t go back do it the “right” way… You’ll have an amazing time…</p>
<p>I went to HOBY last year and it was so much fun. Everyone around you is smart and driven and passionate – it’s very inspiring. As for the national one – I’ve never heard of a national HOBY seminar; are you talking about the World Congress one?</p>
