Hofstra or Eugene Lang

I am a German-American and have been brought up and educated in Germany. I was accepted at Eugene Lang and Hofstra. I want to study biology and music and don’t know which school is better for me. Who has an opinion?

Eugene Lang, all the way.

Please tell me why.

better academics
smaller class sizes
Eugene lang is also in Greenwich village

Eugene Lang has a Science, Technology & Society major but its focus/specialties are definitely the humanities and social sciences. Also, Eugene Lang has an extremely limited amount of housing availabe so after freshman year you’re on your own, and I’ve heard the school doesn’t really have much of a community feel to it or “school spirit”. Basically, it depends on if you want a bigger school in the suburbs (Hofstra) or a smaller school in the city with really tiny classes.

i know about the awesome academics but i m not sure they offer what i want…i mean i ve looked and checked out the website and all,but somehow i m not able to find what i m looking for!
do u know if i would be able to study biology there?biology thats not only limited to human sciences…?

I would suggest going to Eugene Lang’s website and emailing someone at the school such as a professor or dean because they could probably give you a lot more information than I could.

Hofstra is not a bad school, it’s up and coming and obviously with more resources than Lang. However, I think Lang has a more intellectual, artistic student body and is located in a great area.
