Our apartment has a textured/bumpy old ceiling that basically crumbles a little if you even touch or put any pressure against it. When I moved in, there were already a couple, dime-sized holes in this ceiling, but I have added a few from hanging up curtains.

Do I need to fix these at the end of the lease? I don’t know how that would work since the ceiling is old and bumpy, and crumbles if I even press my hand against it.

I would ask your landlord. I would assume that you wouldn’t have to fix it but I would definitely let someone know so you don’t get charged for all of the holes and what not.

Oh yuck, like old popcorn ceilings? I would definitely talk to your landlord about it. They can contain asbestos and that’s obviously not good for your health, and like you said they’re just crumbly and kind of a bother in general. You shouldn’t have to fix anything–if anything, your landlord should get them replaced due to health hazards.

Good luck!
