Some of the tall characters move! Looked pretty scary to me at twilight. My daughter would have been terrified until third grade!

Someone told me that all those decorations were sold as a package from Costco. Of course the last time I was there a few weeks ago. they were totally Christmas.

We’ve been tempted to buy some, but the storage?!! They are really neat though.

Unfortunately I can’t post a photo yet. One of my favorite Halloween yard decorations were chicken-wire figures. You can barely see them during the day. At night, they really appear ghost-like. Lots of examples on the web if you google “chicken wire ghosts”

Corner house in the neighborhood loves skeletons.

Today I went to an amazing NYC Marathon party, given every year by China adoption friends who live at Mile 8 of the race. They hire a DJ and caterers and invite anyone who wants to come. There were at least 50 people at a time in the house and on the stoop and sidewalk outside. The DJ is great and plays all the lively stuff–YMCA, the Macarena, upbeat Beatle and Motown songs, etc., etc. Alas, the only photo I took was at the end when everyone was kicking to New York, New York sung by Frank Sinatra just before the police reopened the street to cars and buses.
