I always send a business colleague (and friend) a holiday gift basket and need some new, interesting ideas. Some companies I have used in the past are Murray’s Cheese, Wolferman’s and Harry & David. I usually do food because they have lots of family in over Christmas.

Check out Etsy. There are some incredibly talented people on there. I ordered some homemade jams from a lady a couple of hours away, picked out my favorite flavors, and ordered her gift baskets, where I can choose my flavors. The shop owner packaged everything very well, using bubble wrap and padding, and sent it via priority mail flat rate boxes. You’re even able to track the package. Everything is fresh, homemade, and you’re supporting a small business. You can look up the location of the shop to choose someone nearby, for quicker delivery, or just because you want to support a local business.

My Michigan SIL usually sends a gift from Cherry Republic. Some years I eat it (love the dark chocolate covered cherries) and some years I get my H to take the sweets to the office to share.

In the past when I was a more active professional, I used to get a lot of gift baskets from clients. While all were appreciated, one client always sent me a good bottle of champagne nicely wrapped. That gift never went to waste over the holidays.
