Holiday Gift Baskets, no more towers....

Every year I begin a new search for an online source of unique gift baskets. Last time I posted here I got some great suggestions for chocolate and cookies- would never have found My Boys Baking biscotti on my own. This year I wanted a California/ West coast theme, specifically olive oil but not wine. And no Harry & David or Wine County towers, which are usually disappointing once they are all taken apart and examined. So far my favorite is this company https://knackshops.com/collections/gourmet-gift-ideas. I was able to choose each component of the basket, starting with gourmet California olive oil and balsamic vinegar and adding some nuts, candy and biscotti.

Anyone discover a new gift basket source this year?

Chacewater Winery in NorCal makes their own olive oils flavored and regular, and their wines (at least the reds I’ve had) are good and they make Balsamic Vinegar, too, I believe.
Around 20-30 years ago, I happened to have been acquainted with the grape grower who now provides some of the organic grapes for those wines. That’s why I tried it the first time, but once we tried it, we were hooked on the Zin especially.

I like the idea of wine gifts, but UPS requires a signature for delivery and that will cause problems for the busy young people on my list. It’s got to be something that can be left at the door. However wines will be a good option for the people I’ll see in person. Thanks for the suggestion!

Zingerman’s. Based in Ann Arbor, Michigan if you’re not familiar. Exceptional products overall.

Chukar Cherries from WA for folks with a sweet tooth:

^The Chukar cherries were an option for the Knack shops ‘build your own’ basket, glad I added those & hoping kids will like them.

Anything from this place! https://www.goldbelly.com/

As usual, I strongly recommend American Spoon Foods in Petoskey, Michigan.

I like cherry republic. The boxing is really nice. Order boomchunka cookies

Personal preference I like cherry republic better than American Spoon Foods but both are good.

I really wish that someone would get me some sees chocolates. My local mall doesn’t have a store this year.

Ahh, I re-read your post - I thought you were still looking for olive oil/vinagarette gifts.

I still stand by any Zingerman’s gifts! A friend bought each of our kids a 3 month bake shop subscription - they received a gift box once a month of baked shop goods including to die for cinnamon rolls!

I might go with those gifts from American Spoon Foods, but wow they’re pricey. $50 for four jars of jam?

Plus shipping.

One year my niece sent us a big wheel of Maytag blue cheese. I think it was 2 or 3 lbs. It was wonderful. their other cheeses are okay, but the blue is outstanding: very creamy, great flavor. This appeals to me:

or the one with the bamboo cutting board.

@deb922 , I could go for that 5 lb box of cherries from Cherry Republic!

I have heard really good thing about this company’s products - especially the queso and some of the salsas and jams that are spicy! https://salsa-basket.com/

Sometimes nice to have a product that you don’t have to use right away. Or that you can use as part of your NY Eve or Super Bowl party!
