The Apartment Therapy website, who hosted the couple weeks of cleanup/organizing daily tips a month back, now has a “Holiday Jumpstart”. It’s described as “For 10 days at the end of October, Apartment Therapy wants to help you get ahead on the holidays. Together, we’re checking off doable daily tasks to get one step closer to the effortless holiday season you deserve. Sign up now (it’s free!) so you don’t miss a thing.”
Has anyone used either of these recommended apps? I like the organization of apps and that I have everything in one spot - and not a bunch of slips of paper or a whole notebook to refer to:
I won’t use an app, mostly because of space on my phone. I just have a list on Notes with each person’s name and ideas for them. When I buy things I put a mark by the items purchased. I also have a slim three ring notebook planner for craft ideas, cards to send, recipes to try, etc. I have fun with my planner since a lot of it is doodling ideas and making more lists and plans for cooking and baking.
@doschicos I made my list about a week or so ago. I always get a small Moleskine book and use it for all my Christmas ‘stuff’. I list each person on a separate page. On the left, I list ideas then on the right, I write what I have purchased, after doing so, with a check mark after it, indicating that it is here in the house. (allows for deliveries to have taken place). When I wrap the gift, I circle the check mark. Yes, I am a nerd.
I have a similar process, @alwaysamom but I do it on my laptop. It includes a tally of how much I spent on my kids because I don’t always give them the same number of gifts but I always spend roughly an equal amount.
I’m not a great gift-giver, and I don’t enjoy receiving gifts either, believe it or not. Gift-buying occasions are often a challenge for me! Feeling a wee bit anxious just reading this thread!
@abasket - I’ve used The Christmas List app for the past several years and I love it. When I got it, it was free so yay :). Besides keeping lists for the current year, it also archives past lists which I love…helps me remember who I sent what before. I also started another list on it for birthdays (mainly for immediate family members) so I can add in ideas as I go along.
