Over the last two days (everyone has left!) is watched Holidate. Nothing deep, just an entertaining chick flick

Revisiting this thread for some past ideas. But are there any 2024 holiday movies - or others not mentioned above that are favs of yours?

Post the names, if it’s on a streaming service (that you know of) and what type of movie it is (romance, family drama, etc. )

We watched Red One last night on Prime. It kept us entertained.

We watched Red One on Prime last night too. We really enjoyed it. I’m surprised it was so low on rotten tomatoes. It’s not Oscar worthy, but it was cute and sweet and entertaining like a holiday movie should be

Every holiday movie I was looking up had a low Rotten Tomato rating - I think I’m gonna ignore those.

My H is originally from Kansas City and has been a Chiefs fan forever. He has watched the Hallmark movie Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story multiple times already (it debuted 2 weeks ago). He claims it is “much better” than most Hallmark movies. I am finding his devotion to this movie pretty amusing.

H and I are in the group that did not enjoy Red One – we actually turned it off after about 40 minutes. We were hoping for a light, fun holiday movie but found it overly-silly and kind of dull. With a $250 million budget and a big time cast, we expected better.

I love “the Holdovers” and Meet Me in St Louis".

Not a popular opinion even within my family, but I loath “Die Hard”. I think I picked up a book after 15-20 minutes of it.

I just watched Die Hard for the first time. I didn’t realize how old it was until I saw an early scene in which the lead character (Bruce Willis) casually lights up a cigarette INSIDE an airport!

Putting aside all the indoor smoking, I liked it!

I really enjoyed Love Hard! Saw it a few years ago and may rewatch it this year.
We watched A Biltmore Christmas last night, it’s pretty cute

“Elf” - Will Farrell, comedy and heartwarming, family
“The Santa Clause”- Tim Allen, heartwarming, cute, family
“Home Alone”-McCaulkin Cullen?, family, comedy
Love Actually- not really a Christmas movie but it is, LOL not family
Christmas Vacation–once you come upon it, you are drawn in; so funny
I watched It’s a Wonderful Life every year for so many years, I finally got tired of it

It’s probably been mentioned but I love “Family Man”!

I recommended Klaus on here last year. We watch it as a family every year. It’s wonderful.

OMG, “A Christmas Story”. How could I possibly forget that one!

An oldie and definitely a 1940s post-war period piece, Christmas in Connecticut.
