Holiday Recipes (some great for autumn)

So many of these can be made for Thanksgiving, so I thought that I would bump up this thread for those that might already be thinking about their holiday menus:

So nice to see the thread referenced. Maybe it will inspire me to start cooking again. I’ve been really bad about that lately.

missypie, I am trying to inspire myself. I am making Thanksgiving Dinner again this year and I am thinking about how much any “twists” to the traditional fare will be well received by family and friends. Also, trying to inspire myself try some new dishes. Who knows whether I’ll get that motivated and adventurous!

If anyone wants to add tasty recipes for this time of year, or special dishes for the holidays, please post them.

Thanksgiving will be at our house for the 20th year in a row! The menu is set and the nephews would revolt if I tried to put a twist on any of the traditional dishes. Luckily that means that the planning and shopping are fairly easy. However I am still searching for the perfect stuffing/dressing recipe. And we make a different menu of appetizers every year. I’ll post some of my favorite recipes when I get a chance.

Something inspirational to start us off:

Homemade Baileys Irish Cream Recipe

• 1 C light cream (heavy whipping cream makes it even richer)
• 14 oz sweetened condensed milk
• 1 2/3 C Irish whiskey (Jameson’s)
• 1 t instant coffee
• 2 T Hershey’s chocolate syrup
• 1 t vanilla
• 1 t almond extract (more or less to taste)

Combine all ingredients in a blender and set on high speed for 30 seconds.

Bottle in a tightly sealed container and refrigerate. Shake before using.

Will keep for up to 2 months

Enjoy while you plan your holiday menu!

Archiemom, that sure is one way to get an early start on the festive season! Thanks for posting!
