Western wood pine is the type of poles. The weather is very hot, sunny and very dry, high desert. Hence the linseed oil is used. Afraid to sand. Need more to blend with the dark streaks already on the wood than clean the whole poles. But interesting idea. Also, have not tried wood pencil or marker. I have some- will try and report back.

OK,tried wood marker brown. Streaks look more blended, better.

I’d try a wood stain. Or take the new numbers off and repaint in maybe a bright gold color or a shiny chrome paint.

@BunsenBurner Can you give some idea of your bedroom decor and color scheme? Contemporary? Traditional? It would help narrow the search!

Wow! Thank you. The furniture in the room is minimalistic. Think Room and Board or Scan Design. The wall is 15 ft tall in the tallest spot. There are two windows on the sides of the bed above which there is waaay too much empty wall space. The nautical tapestries look interesting.

Lol, yesterday I mentioned that I had had to google “aubergine.” As it is the French word for “eggplant,” I should be ashamed (I speak a bit of French, definitely not fluently).

Anyway, yesterday afternoon I was listening to an audio book in the car, and the author wrote about the main character’s aubergine blanket! :smiley:

I watch a lot of British cooking shows and some comedy shows also. They use swede for turnip and satsuma for mandarin orange, along with those you mention. And then they cook it on the hob (instead of burner).
