I really liked the combatives class. The was definitely challenging but it also gave you a real sense of your own abilities. During the summer you do a coed 8(ish) hours of CQC (close quarters combat) training. The class is structured similiar to that, but you do more boxing moves before the CQC instruction is given. Also, it is an all female class–which I really enjoyed. It was a nice change from my other classes where I am one of 2 or 3 normally with a male teacher…nothing bad about that, it’s just a refreshing twist.

Shogun:

I for one love hearing how your daughter is doing. Although I generally lurk and don’t post, I have enjoyed following your daughter’s journey. I feel like I know her! There is a cameraderie on this board that makes sharing triumphs perfectly ok. It is not bragging in the least. Please keep it up!

spidermom,
I see on another post that yours is attending NMMI

my son is at NMMI this year AOG sponosred --I would be glad to talk to you about it PM me … we were NOT sure it was what our son needed to do … but we learned how committed he is to attending west point, we received lots of great feedback from cadets and graduates… and so far it seems like a great advantage for him
