Home of the week: Stately Navy estate

A typical Navy family which has survived numerous moves and deployments, Capt. Margaret D. Klein and her husband, retired Navy Cmdr. Frank Klein, finally have a home in which they can spread out.</p>

<p>Last January, the Klein family, which includes a teen-age daughter and college-age son, was assigned to the stately seven-bedroom, seven-fireplace, seven-bathroom Commandant’s house on the Naval Academy grounds. Capt. Klein, a graduate of the Class of 1981, was recently appointed Commandant of Midshipmen, the first woman to hold that position. With the move to Annapolis, Cmdr. Klein was asked to join the academy faculty as physics instructor…

<p>I haven’t been in the Commandant’s Residence, but I have been in the Superintendant’s.</p>

<p>Yes, they are roomy and elegant, but don’t make the mistake of thinking they are posh. They are luxurious beyond measure when compared to your average military housing, and large compared to the average home, but these guys don’t live like the Hollywood stars or anything.</p>
