A chronic knee problem has sidelined my daughter’s pursuit of a ballet career, just as she was preparing to audition for companies. She has a wonderful resume and trained on merit scholarship at a top school in NYC. She is currently a post-secondary student/trainee with an international company and just turned 20. She has several online college credits from a reputable US community college, which she accumulated, starting at age 15. She is an excellent student and has honors status on her transcript. But she has not taken the SATs and her math is not strong. She completed her dual high school enrollment as a homeschooler, while living in NYC and training. We are hoping to find a college that would offer scholarship options for her achievements in dance and offer classes that would allow her to still fulfill that desire to keep fit in the dance studio, from time to time. But due to her injury, she cannot fulfill the rigorous requirements of a dance major. Is there a possibility she would still be able to apply for scholarships based on her dance background? She also has talents in writing and art and is excited about other interests beyond dance, especially nutrition. Advice would be much appreciated.
