<p>I’m a homeschool student in 11th grade expecting an SAT score of above 2200. I also own and run my own martial arts dojo with about 40 students. I teach 12 classes a week and the net profit is around 1500 a month. How much is this going to stand out? I’m aiming for the Ivies or Duke, but also considering UNC-Chapel Hill.</p>

<p>thats great that you teach… shows interest and passion… and it would set you for ecs… but i dont think its going to really stand out… ur net profit isint really anything thats going to stand out… and i would call it more of a job that a business… ur a teacher… not a ceo… not trying to b harsh…unless u spin it somehow on ur app that u manage many dojos and its more of a business than a job… understand?</p>

<p>I would consider that a business. I doubt you rent your own place or anything, but nevertheless, you have customers and you have a profit. That’s a business. </p>

<p>To make it stand out as an ‘official business’, I would create a whole book out of it, including records of your earnings and weekly or monthly cost calculations, projected income, customer base growth, etc. Then you could submit that as an extra supplement, if you think it’s good enough. </p>

<p>What’s your intended major btw? Anything to do with business?</p>

<p>Actually I am the CEO/owner. It is set up under an LLC. I do rent out a building and maintain monthly books. Right now I’m considering pre-med but that may change. I don’t think that I want to persue a business degree. That’s a great idea pch340 of including a supplement; I may do that.</p>

<p>I employ my younger sister who helps with 2 classes. It’s legit though and is marked as a business expense. Thanks for the ideas! I’m just trying to figure out if colleges will be impressed. I’ve considered hosting my own tournament and donating the proceeds, but I’m not sure how complicated that would be considering I’m a minor.</p>
